Re: A Tweak to the Lego Legends Idea - Inovation

(...) Tom - Yes! Thats exactly the point I was trying to make but I missed the boat!! All the other Lego Castle Kits were issued as a 'series' so that if you started collecting Lego within any given year you can buy different sets of similar style (...)   Re: Black and White Box

(...) All "legends" sets come in black and white boxes. It is sort of like a classic black and white film thing I guess. Martin (23 years ago, 26-Oct-01, to lugnet.trains)

All of the Legends and Shop at Home only kits (Sopwith Camel, Statue of Liberty) I've purchased have come in a B&W box. It's my assumption it was done as a cost saver. Robert Powell SCLTC (23 years ago, 26-Oct-01, to lugnet.trains)

Why not a cypress tree in the Legends re-release of 6390?

Why? I can understand the new baseplates, but why replace the tree when you just came out with them in a service pack? Also, why replace the slider with specialized parts? Frank (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Why not a cypress tree in the Legends re-release of 6390?

[snip] (...) Well the real reason (pure speculation, but the only thing that makes sense) is that the current road plates (grey or green) have wider roads and as a result narrower stud areas. Simply put, the original sliding "rails" are too wide. (...) (23 years ago, 13-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: New legend is up

(...) The Legends vote started before the cypress tree was re-released. Obviously (to my mind) they didn't know they would/could provide the trees when they wrote the description for Main Street. James (22 years ago, 10-Jul-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) Seriously, a DUPLO legend? Really? Honestly? Or are you giving me a hard time? :) And designer isn't a legend because... well... it just came out last year and is still on the shelves now. Hardly a candidate to re-release anything under it at (...) (21 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

(...) I have to agree - if the colors aren't the same, or if the pieces are significantly different (like substituting 1x1 brick with headlight for 1x1 window, as noted earlier), then it's not a reissue, but a reinterpretation. $0.02 James Wilson (...)   Re: What Pirate sets , in your mind , should be part of the Legends line?

I didn't start this thread because it is such a given that the Black Sea Barracuda, Skull's Eye Schooner, Imperial Trading Post, and El Dorado Fortress are the obvious Legends. Certainly the early two big ships rank up there amongst the finest kits (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jun-01, to lugnet.pirates)
