(...) <FoynLG.JGJ@lugnet.com> (...) You seem to be taking this as a personal insult, Larry. What's with this perjorative labeling? If it's flippant, it isn't really worthy of response. If it isn't, then aren't you just taking a cheap shot? I (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

My point is more basic - you can find those traffic lights because you are using additional info - that they are all located along the 'grid' of roads, and that if you veer left, you correct when you reach the edge of the pavement (or gravel, (...)   Re: Keeping Larry Amused

(...) No, I said it wasn't intended to be taken seriously. I was refering to my example only. But after thinking about it, I decided it may have legitimate repurcussions. My point really is that there can be a cost to a society by having an open (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Ugh...too much work and not enough Lugnet makes Pete a dull boy. I'm actually enjoying this discussion so forgive me if it appears we're flogging a dead horse. (...)   Re: Robotic Ants

Here's a table of the methods a typical ant colony uses for communication, an how similar results could be done on the RCX. An NA in the RCX column means I didn't see a reason why a robot would want to ever immulate that behavior. Stimulus (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) The link is dead but I'm not. When I can finally pick up the pieces (I've been juggling multiple emergencies) I'll try to get something to you and the other 10000 or so people who have been getting the "out of order" page. (...) The statement that initiative and leadership, etc., have nothing to do with going to college is dead wrong. It's not exhibited in college as often as it should be, and that's part of the reason for the search for better processes. People who (...)
