M-tron 6862 Super vehicle scans sent to kl.net

Well, I finally set up my scanner, and figured that this would be the most useful set to scan first. I seem to recall seeing a few requests for scans of this, so I am uploading them to (URL) as I write this. Next up on tomorrow's (or is that (...) (26 years ago, 10-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

  Technica Set Index update 1999

Hi: Thanks to Maico Arts, Richard Dee and Huw Millington, all who have generously supplied me with European Technic materials I have just completely updated the Technica set index. It now includes images for virtually every Technic set, including (...) (26 years ago, 15-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)

Hey there! Since this is the local group for my area, let's talk about the Lego, OC style. 1) Anyone having trouble finding Target halloween buckets? 2) Anyone purchase Mindstorms in the area? If so, how is it, in your opinion? 3) Any great FOTW in (...) (26 years ago, 11-Oct-98, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.la.sa)

On another subject, is there any interest to organize a group trip from this area to the grand opening of Legoland CA in March? John PS: This was the (...)   Re: Batteries?

re: rechargeables (...) That is the problem with NiCd rechargeables. By the time the battery low detector kicks in, it is often too late. And they have a 'memory' so you do want to run them down periodically. They are not recommended for the (...) (26 years ago, 1-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

  Piece-name Question

This is kind of an odd question, I think. In Tim Vattima's inventory of set #1782, the TRU-almost-exclusive Divers Discovery Station, has some interesting part names. This inventory is at (URL). And a picture of the set is at, of course, (URL). One (...) (26 years ago, 6-Nov-98, to lugnet.admin.database)

  What set was this in?

(URL) piece (Thanks Jim Hughe's for the pic). Note that it says it was available in yellow in 98. What set?!? I need 2 in yellow to fully finish a project, and I'm to the point that I'll buy the set for these 2 pieces (For Technic, I can afford it, (...) (26 years ago, 9-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Also sprach Jim Hughes: : try O'Reilly's Javascript, the definitive guide (mine has a rhino on : the cover but there is probably a newer version now). A good book : but the thing it really taught me is that there are too many differences : between (...) (26 years ago, 15-Dec-98, to lugnet.publish)

  Parts naming conventions

I didn't know exactly where this fit into the thread so I just started a new one. Read with interest the discussion of part naming conventions as this is something I have been (trying) to deal with for several years as part of my element registry. (...)   Re: Parts naming conventions

(...) Exactly. If everyone assumes a set starting orientation, such as the word "lego' on the studs is right side up readable from left to right then it would be trivial top decide upon a convention for describing a particular side or top/bottom.   Re: Newsgroup for this (was Re: The Bricktionary project)

(...) Steve, I totally agree what is needed is a complete classification/taxonomy system so you can find a part. The naming component is useful and interesting but this project should be a parts database not just a name database. If the (...)   Samsonite Gear Set date Questions

Hi: I have a question about when Samsonite gears were first introduced. The first series of sets w/ gears were: 001 Gear Set 003 Master Mechanic Set 004 Master Builder Set And I have seen the 001 dated at 1970 or 1971. Does anyone know for sure when (...) I'll keep an eye out. What time of day was it? I received 'Rock/Granite' from Jim Hughes in the US today. It is very neat. Can't wait to buy the rest.
