  Re: Farm MOC.

(...) I do! Very nicely done. I look forward to seeing more from you. You put lots of nice details in this MOC without crowding. Selective compression done well. I gotta learn to do that :-) I like the focus on animals, scenery and activity. It adds (...) (21 years ago, 5-May-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)

  Re: TeenLTC?

(...) While I'd agree that getting excited isn't A Good Thing, and that "MICHLTC has been gobbled up by Larry Industires" is over-stated, there does seem to be an element of "Let's do this my way" in the Michigan LEGO groups, the few seemingly (...)   Re: Problem with Brickbay?

(...) Yes. I've been told there's been a denial-of-service attack on UUNET, which carries a great deal of 'net traffic. It may be the latest worm is creating so much traffic that it's impersonating a DOS attack. If UUNET is between you and brickbay, (...) (23 years ago, 18-Sep-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Infomal Lego Gathering - Cleveland, OH

(...) Ugh. If I had seen this yesterday I would have planned on going to Findlay, OH today rather than tomorrow. I've been wanting to make the drive from Findlay to Cleveland for old times' sake, anyway. Hmmm. Can I do what I need to do in Findlay (...) (23 years ago, 1-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.us.oh.cle)

  Another paypal horror story

Seems if you use a debit card, paypal will tie up twice your purchase amount in your checking account for several days, causing bounced checks. And it's not a glitch - it's how it's "supposed" to work, according to paypal. Here's the cnet story... (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: My new MOC: Greisbart the Mage's Tower

(...) My my, this is a real treat. So many things to look at, and wonderfully photographed! Nice use of light with all the trans pieces. I love the library and laboratory, and the windows. And the trees and architecture and grounds. And the spiral (...) (21 years ago, 7-Jul-03, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Problem with Brickbay?

(...) It probably was. My web log shows *thousands* of attempts by the latest worm to infect me. Dan relies on ASP, so he's more vulnerable to these kinds of attacks. I hope people start billing Microsoft for this crap. I'm microsoft-free, and their (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.market.brickshops)

  Re: Wall construction - 1xN or 2xN?

(...) A 2x wall built from two layers of 1x's allows you to have different colors on the inside and outside, and allows you to block light coming through cracks by staggering the layers. The layers tend to separate on large walls, though, unless you (...) (23 years ago, 13-May-01, to lugnet.build)

  group configuration (was: Ldraw/MLCAD question)

(...) FWIW, Microsoft's .NET framework version 1.1 has a regular expression parser. I don't know if it exists in the MFC, or in version 1.0 of the framework (I'm new to Visual Studio), but if it's available to the mlcad build I'd really like to see (...)   distributed denial of service attack

I believe the recent "distributed denial of service attack" was SWEN. I was getting copies of that from all over the world to my lugnews address, and only to my lugnews address, until you moved ports. That shut off the incoming viri like a switch. I (...)   Train widths

I'm designing a bridge that I'd like to later be able to convert to a rail bridge. I'd like to design for two 9V tracks but I don't know how wide people are building trains. Six or Eight? In other words, is it safe to lay two tracks touching (...) (24 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Microfig castle and new roof design

(...) 45-degree pitch you should be able to finish the side edge of the peak with virtually no gap using one 1x2 plate on the underside of the 1-by's on one edge. There'll be a bit that hangs down, but it'll look decorative. Amy (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

  Re: Amphibious tour bus

(...) geocities doesn't want you to link to the JPGs, because then the viewer won't see the ads. The JPGs must be put in pages, and you must link to the pages, not the images. This is true even if you've paid for ad-free space. I'd like to know how (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.ca.on.ott)

  Re: My latest cathedral.

(...) could just get it in all the colors we want, in bulk... The "up" shot is bizarre. You've got the reflectivity set high in all these shots. Is that in keeping with the liquid theme or is there some utility to it in rendering? Amy (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.arch)
