| (...) Well, I guess - but the Spybotics firmware wouldn't know how to drive the extra motor - unless it replaced one of the built-in motors which would then be 'dead weight'. | To follow up on my initial post; I have received information from LD today which indicates that Mindstorms and other sundry 9v bits and pieces are not in immediate jeopardy. (Wipes brow...) | WOW! :) Thank you very much Mark ! Cool, it's all true then :) The usable firmware VLL input together with RCX/Scout IR messages output and the Manas/Spybot IR input. | I'll care what the voltage is, becuase I have to buy batteries for it/use a wall wart. Higher voltage == more batteries/more expensive batteries, and also more space. So, it seems to me (since the RCX/siblings are already fairly large on a Lego (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.robotics)

| Yeah, serious business huh! I will investigate the Pitsco source, but I have a feeling that it may be limited too. I think TLC are quietly pulling the plug on their whole 9v system. | After doing a little more sleuthing, I was able to find out how to process incoming IR and VLL messages. And yes, thankfully, VLL decode is built into the firmware! | (...) I've got to try BrickCC as well. I'm not surprised at the light detector performance. The light pipe is good, but not that good. | It's pretty nice to program my Spybot with BricxCC. It's just like working with an RCX. But I'm having a problem getting a reliable reading from the light sensor.
