What do those 'hand's do?  On snaptrax and Technojaw, it seems to bump up
with the touch sensor, but what do they actually do?

With Technojaw, each hand/jaw is coupled with the wheel of the same side --
The hand/jaw opens when the wheel turns backward, and closes when forward.
The whole mechanism also serves as a front bumper, as you have observed.

Very, very clever. This mechanism may not work that well in a fully
autonomous configuration, but with Spybotics it is fun to play.
