| Thanks for the reply, André. I've read that the IR emitters are "low-power". Does this mean the red LED on Spybot would have a longer range than the IR emitters if used in proximity detection? On my machine (Win2000) where I have both a serial Spybotics cable and a RIS USB tower, I have to specify the port that BricxCC must use. | Has anyone else noticed how Lego is now cleverly guiding innocent create'n'builders surely and slowly into being hardcore technic builders? | The only bona fide piece of information I have is the recollection of an off-hand comment made by one of the TLC staff who was at BrickFest last summer who said that if the Spybotics line did not make money, then the future for the Mindstorms line (...) | Unfortunately, it seems that TLC doesn't have a clear idea of what to do with Mindstorms in general. Their support for the whole line has been less than full - note the failure to update software for their cameras beyond Win98. I've been using the (...)
