| Here's two things to try since you've only swapped out the VM hich I assume is a replacement for the "c_cmd.c" file. 1. | Andy, It is not COM port problem. I have used the same PC and the same configuration to successfully download to RCX the night before I took all the batteries out of the RCX. After 24 hours without battery, the RCX lost its firmware. It fails to (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

I agree with your observations, but have a question: Is the processor in the IR Tower controllable (i.e. downloadable, like the RCX)? If it is, then there's (...) | (...) Ummm, that doesn't make sense. You know where the midpoint is by knowing the baud rate, and hence the bit width.
