  Re: Frustration with NXT-G 1.1

(...) Please let your wife know that she has *really* cool tastes in anniversary gifts :). (...) I still like it quite a bit, but it seems among adults I'm a minority (or an aberration... I've been called worse). I agree that the bugs in the IDE in (...) (16 years ago, 13-May-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Handy Board and 6 legged bots.

Greetings, The serial port could be used after downloading the program code into memory for other purposes (such as controlling the mini-ssc board). However, I have not found any reference to RS-232C port IC commands, so one would have to build (...) (28 years ago, 13-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

RCX infrared broken -- what now?

I recently dug my old MindStorms sets out of storage after about five years of inactivity. Naturally the RCXes (I have three) all needed to have their firmware re-installed. I was able to successfully refresh two of the bricks but not the third. I (...) (16 years ago, 20-Aug-08, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Robolab and Spybotics

(...) No language war intended, but for now I'd rather use Robolab. That said, if I change my mind I'd appreciate some tips on using MacNQC with Spybotics. Most of the stuff that I've seen on the web talks about using the regular RCX stuff. One of (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jan-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab, lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

Free IAR compiler for NXT firmware

If you haven't heard yet, IAR has released a free LEGO MINDSTORMS version of their compiler. It happens to be the same compiler that LEGO uses to build the NXT firmware so it makes it extraordinarily simple to build your own modified firmware (...)   RE: Firmware: IR transmission demystified

  Firmware: IR transmission demystified

IR transmission was pretty tough to get at. Carrier frequency was the final key - there are no crystals to create the IR carrier, so the processor has to provide it.
