| I've done some re-works. Now I'm not exactly sure what engine it's modeled after. More of a collection of CN engines I've seen over the past few months. But it's close to a SD-40. | Hi there, I use legOS 0.2.4 under Linux and tried (after a few weeks) to download the firmware and get always the follwing error: firmdl3/firmdl: transfer data failed Batteries are brand new, tower was set to short and long dist. nothing helped ... | I don't know if people have discussed this already or not, but I'm just playing around with the new firmware now and I can finally do what I have wanted to do for 3 years, and that is to make the frequency played by the RCX be a function of a (...) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics)

| (...) I'm guessing that using the built in IR port is close to the signal needed but not quite there. It's a shame LEGO used such an alien signal for their towers. | I've written a firmware downloader that runs on a Psion 5mx (and probably an older 5, but I haven't tested it). I should note this uses the IR tower connected to teh cable serial port (via lego's cable, psion's cable and a null modem adaptor, (...) (23 years ago, 29-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
