Mocs, Smack, and a Pimp: my Brickfest 04' experience

I'd like to echo the sentiments of the other attendees and thank Christina and all the people who worked hard and stressed out to make Brickfest 04' such a blast. Here are some pics of varying quality and questionable commentary to go along with (...) (20 years ago, 18-Aug-04, to lugnet.events.brickfest) !!

(...) NO KIDDING! "8459 follows the footsteps of 8460, rises to godly stature" We can now proclaim the 843x block taken by 2004 Technic sets and reissues! W00t! (Yes I know about 8432=8428 and 8437, just conveniently ignoring them) Keith (20 years ago, 16-Aug-04, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Bust out that Sailor moon outfit and... well, you never know. Fun as always Keith. I've spent time already trying to find as much of the story out in the pics, and always find more. I particuarily like the green windows. Very cool touch. I (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Wow, 15 spotlight reviews! And while everyone is busy with holiday shopping and traveling, no less. But I must say, rarely has a MOC been so deserving. Astounding, I think, sums it up. I mean, I was not truly in the Christmas spirit until I viewed (...) (20 years ago, 23-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Don't mind Keith, Michael. he's just feeling threatened by the sudden arrival of somebody who could threaten his stranglehold on the grey-brick military MOC market. it's an awesome creation, though. and I'm still trying to work out exactly how (...) (...) There's a real turret in there! Outrageous. I think you might want to move from flash bulbs to really bright lights, but this is still a marked improvement. And to think, you've been letting Keith steal your thunder for all this time. This MOC (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) That yellow piece came from 8466. And 8386 actually has the same piece, just in black. I once tried to motorize my 8466 with the RC buggy motors. It works, just not well because of the weight. It probably won't shock you to hear that I really dig this moc, and the theme behind it. I'm not that familiar with 40k, but the first thing that came to mind was Dune for some reason.
