Re: Help me convert this train program to use events (NQC)

(...) That was basically my plan if I couldn't get the light sensors to work reliably. Based on Brian's post I might go back to my original design, though. (19 years ago, 28-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, FTX)

Re: Help me convert this train program to use events (NQC)

(...) I wanted the layout to be pure LEGO, but if I run out of time building this I'll break down and use non-LEGO wire and my original setup. (...) I wasn't worried about hiding the RCX, but I have seen the batteries run down very quickly. In the (...) (19 years ago, 28-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, FTX)

Re: Help me convert this train program to use events (NQC)

(...) Wow! That's quite a long cable. Is this the right product? I only found it using Pitsco's search box; it's not listed in any LEGO section as far as I could tell. (URL) (...) My original setup's RCX is a 1.0 with the AC adapter. The rails are (...) (19 years ago, 28-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, FTX)

  Re: NEW ANIMATION

(...) That's really good. I like how the suspension works as it lands. How long did it take to render it? -Jordan Bradford (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Weird RCX electrical ideas

(...) I got a private email that said this: Jordan, this idea is a good one. and has proved to work in the past. if you have 2 rcx's, then try it. heck you can even experiment with just one RCX for proof of concept. run a wire from the motor out to (...)   New LEGO-themed PC game (not official)

This is my first post to the LUGNET newsgroups after having joined LUGNET this month. It's actually one of the reasons I joined in the first place -- to get comments, suggestions, and even volunteers about this game from LUGNET members. So, here it (...)   Re: CardShark: A Shuffling and Dealing Creation!

I like it. Is there any chance you'd provide some instructions or have a parts list? With a project that big it probably isn't worth the trouble to do that, though. How about the code for the program it's running? (21 years ago, 17-Aug-03, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: RCX & RIS, a fading glory?

Yes, you are on to something. Many industrial robots are "programmed" in much the same way. The operator "teaches" it which movements to make using manual controls, and then the robot can do those movements over and over again without error. In the (...)   Re: RCX & RIS, a fading glory?

I'm getting one for Christmas. The pneumatic parts in it are the new style, though. That means the big cylinders no longer have that "brick" at the bottom of them to attach to studs. All there is now is the Technice hole at the bottom. (21 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  My students' creation

Last year I taught two computer classes at Fond du Lac Christian School in Fond du Lac, WI. One of them had only four students, three seniors and one junior. Near the end of the semester I gave them a LEGO robotics challenge. I finally got around to (...) (21 years ago, 28-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

What are good LEGO robotics challenges?

I'd like to know all the different LEGO robotics challenges you've seen or heard about. If anyone knows of a comprehensive list that already exists, please give me a link to it. Otherwise, I'm going to make my own list, which I would have on a (...) (21 years ago, 31-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Maybe it hasn't changed because only 27 people voted. I was going to post something about this myself, but someone else did. Thanks. This situation needs to be fixed. (21 years ago, 31-Aug-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) Thanks for the reply. Would you please explain the balance beam tug-of-war in more detail? I just can't picture it. Also, "sentience" is pretty vague. Could you expand on that, too? Thanks a lot! (21 years ago, 31-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Weird RCX electrical ideas

I'd like to share two thoughts with you all. They involve the RCX and doing things with it that I'm sure the designers never intended (or thought possible). Maybe that's irrational, but it pains me to see things like servo motors and ugly exposed circuit boards attached to LEGO. Even if a device is hidden inside (...)
