|
| Hi all, I just finished building this set. I would have to say it will be one of my favorites for quite some time, along with the Statue of Liberty. I am not very creative with my Lego, so I really enjoyed some of the ways pieces were combined to (...) (17 years ago, 28-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Interesting to see just how they worked out the spacing, etc. With the (...) (17 years ago, 20-Aug-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

| (...) Since I already lost this once, I'm gonna stash it here just in case. To compile something that runs on Tiger from a makefile on Leopard add this: CFLAGS+= -mmacosx-version-min=10.4 -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk LDFLAGS+= -isysroot (...) | (...) That's interesting. I built it on a new laptop with the version of XCode that comes with leopard. However I just added the arch targets to the old makefile (but missed one of the libraries). So I guess the default is to target leopard only. I (...) (17 years ago, 21-Apr-08, to lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

 | | FOTMonth!
|
| My wife went around to the garage sale yesterday. She found a box of LEGO with some very nice sets in it. The box was $20 and the sets were (all with instructions): 1572 - Super Tow Truck - Complete 6502 - Turbo Racer - Complete 6634 - Stock Car - (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

 | | Re: banner year for castle
|
| Hello! (...) Unfortunatelly I wasn't surprised. (...) I don't agree with your 6090-description. For me it's a fantasy fairy tale castle rather than a building based on real castles. So are 6082 (1993) and 6097 (1997), though it renders the fictional (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

I guess I see both designs (new castle and China Fortress) as pretty much the same thing, along with 6091/6098, Hogwarts Castle, World City train station, World City Police HQ, 6636 Police HQ, and probably more. Mostly just a front facade (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.castle)

 | | Re: Long Span Suspension Bridge?
|
| I've found the deck can be pretty insubstantial; even in minifig scale, the truss carries the weight. The Notre Dame Bridge is about 320 studs long and has been up for over a year now: (URL) At least, I have heard no news of its collapse. It can (...) (18 years ago, 24-Jan-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

| (...) Bruce- You are quite right, but my error is in studs, not feet. (I had an in-the-back-of-my-mi...uite-right feeling even as I wrote the post(s).
