Hi all,

I just finished building this set.
I would have to say it will be one of my favorites
for quite some time, along with the Statue of Liberty.

I am not very creative with my Lego,
so I really enjoyed some of the ways
pieces were combined to form interesting features.

The first one was a 1x3x1 arch brick on top of
1x1 headlight bricks (headlights facing in)
on each end to form a 1x3x2 arch
with 'detail' under the arch, very cool.

I also liked all the 1x1 clear plates used to make
the windows, but man did they take forever to put together.

Finally, the 2x2 turntable bases placed on the blue baseplates
make a very pleasing effect.

I have a question for anyone who has built the set,
When I was done I ended up with an extra bag (sealed)
of 1x6 white plates.
So either I messed up in building, or Lego messed up the contents.
Did anyone else have a leftover bag of 1x6 plates?

I notice that the Peeron inventory, doesn't list extras yet.

Keep on bricking,
dave

(...) I haven't bought the Taj Mahal, but I did build one of the 1st Release UCS Falcons, and I also ended up with a bag full of extra parts. What I had, though, was a bag full of 2x4 right wings, and 2x4 left wings. 23 of each. The set inventory (...) (16 years ago, 28-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.sculpture)
