I have a question for anyone who has built the set,
When I was done I ended up with an extra bag (sealed)

So either I messed up in building, or Lego messed up the contents.
Did anyone else have a leftover bag of 1x6 plates?

I haven't bought the Taj Mahal, but I did build one of the 1st Release UCS
Falcons, and I also ended up with a bag full of extra parts.  What I had,
though, was a bag full of 2x4 right wings, and 2x4 left wings.  23 of each.  The
set inventory (both in the instruction book and on Peeron) calls for 24 of each.
I had to open the bag to finish the model, as I would have ended up one short of
both wings otherwise, so what I believe happened is that, with their complicated
part sortation (there's a _lot_ of bag duplication), the test count came up one
short of both types, so they threw in a bag of left and right wings, in the full
amount required by the set.

I also built the TRU-exclusive Hoth Base set, and got a duplicate copy of the
bag of really tiny parts that contains all the black robot arms used to make the
Probot (which I then used to make a better Probot).

So here's my question:  How many white 1x6 plates are in the extra bag?  If
there are 66 of them (or 33 if you opened two smaller bags), I'd guess you ended
up with an overpacked copy.  If it's shortpacked (65 or 32), you probably got
some overcompensation like I did on the Falcon, to make sure that someone who
dropped that kind of cash on a set doesn't end up being unable to build it due
to being shorted a part or two.

(...) David, I ended up with 17 'extra' 1x6 plates. This bag was a one-off, there were no other bags like it. The rest of the 1x6 plates came mixed in with other bags. Unfortunately I didn't count the exact number of plates in the bag, I simply (...) (16 years ago, 29-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Hi all, I just finished building this set. I would have to say it will be one of my favorites for quite some time, along with the Statue of Liberty. I am not very creative with my Lego, so I really enjoyed some of the ways pieces were combined to (...) (16 years ago, 28-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.sculpture)
