(25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.dk)

  Re: Castle Minifig Races

What would be extremely cool for an Ice Knight soldier would be a white mini- fig with blue arms and hips, silver breastplate, clear shield, lt. trans blue spear, ninja head, and a white ninja swath thing that goes on the head. But the sad thing is (...) (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.castle)

  RE: Ping-Pong Ball Shooter

I think both the catapult and slingshot would be very impressive devices. However, the biggest problem I see with both of these (and particularly with the catapult) is that they involve significant linear acceleration and deceleration of structures (...)   Re: Ping-Pong Ball Shooter

I prototyped a catapult design several months ago that used two motors to "cock" and fire/launch a rubber-band driven ball-launcher. The loading/firing sequence was something like: 1) load ball on catapult. 2) power motors in reverse at low power (...) (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  WTT: Town Building Pieces

These are pieces which should interest those of you who build your own buildings. All are used pieces. Pictures of these pieces are at: (URL) will send my current want list if you are interested. Jerry Hill ghill@execpc.com (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: offtopicy sort of thing

I think that's a really good idea. I tried it, and found out that the motor recieving power spins slower than the motor you spin. This is about 4:3. This could be a really good speed reduction technique that doesn't use gears, or you could power (...) (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Re: What are your 10 most wanted pieces from LEGO Direct?

Steve, I don't think that something of your scale is impossible by parting out blue tubs. There are 120 2x4 bricks in a tub. That would mean you need to part out 42-84 tubs. This is indeed a large task, but by no means impossible. I sorted 96 tubs (...) (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

How to submit parts for L-CAD Updates (was: new (unofficial) part - 4x6 flag - "41.dat")

  BMP2DAT Re: Painted baseplates

(...) You reminded me of a question I had once before. I've used BMP2DAT a few times with success limited by my own ineptitude, but it always seems to generate really big DAT files. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the nature of the beast? (...) (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: What kind of motor comes with the 4559?

(...) I admit I didn't study the Railway Express motor very carefully, but I sure didn't notice any lights on it! The RE *set* does include a (standard) 9v light, as well as the train headlight diffuser piece. The 9v light is powered by connecting (...) (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Painted baseplates

(...) Depends on the pattern. If there was a pattern that always covered entire stud-tops, that wouldn't be too bad to make (considering that a 32x32 has 1024 studs to be painted). But I believe most painted plates have partial covering of studs. (...) (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: 4x2ReVu: B-wing (slightly off topic)

(...) In the X-Wing series, it had 3 ion cannons and 3 blasters (which where always changing places on the wings and cockpit, IMHO XWA had the best configuration). If you look at the official LEGO B-Wing, on each wing there is the large standard (...) (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.starwars)

Re: FS: R2D2 decorative pieces from Droid Dev Kit?

I've found using the dark grey 1.5 size connector fits nicely over the microscouts "eye" very nicely. Using sellotape to fatten the ends of the fibre optic cable, it fits snuggly inside. BTW, I've found that the eye does not respond to VLL commands (...) (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.microscout)
