  You reminded me of a question I had once before.  I've used BMP2DAT a few
times with success limited by my own ineptitude, but it always seems to
generate really big DAT files.  Am I doing something wrong, or is this the
nature of the beast?

(...) It's the nature of the beast. LDraw is very inefficient at storing raster images, which is what BMP2DAT utilities create. Steve (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad)

Hi folks, I'm starting to get into LDRAW (with ML-Cad, fantastic program!), using it mainly for documenting building ideas so I can take things apart again. I've noticed that there aren't any painted flat baseplates in the parts list, such as 6071 (...) (25 years ago, 12-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad)
