Speaking about BMP2DAT - I am currently re-writing that program.
So far, I've just made a slighly improved scan function, and eliminated the need
of manual "vertical sync" adjustments.

My wild plan is to integrate LDS, LDD, and BMP2DAT, so that you can:
* Import chosen parts of a BMP to begin with (if you like),
* Trace the non-90-deg's parts using "LDD technology" - and with bitmap
underneath,
* Include LDS commands,
* Save unfinished work in LDS format, and
* Output as .DAT or .LDS.

Don't know if I'll get the time to, but I sure like the idea.

/Tore

(...) It's the nature of the beast. LDraw is very inefficient at storing raster images, which is what BMP2DAT utilities create. Steve (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad)
