  An introduction.

Hi everyone! My name is Mark Herzberg and this is my first time at Lugnet. If my name sounds familiar, thats because it is. My uncle, who shares by birthday, first and last name, and initials, posts on this group and told me about it (I will call (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.people)

Re: Higher voltage for HB battery

I find that the ideal solution to this situation is to build a power system for the robot. Maxim, Linear Technology, and National each make very easy to use switching regulators that can provide highly efficient DC to DC conversion. Building a (...)   Re: More: Walmart LEGO Suprise and Adventure!

(...) Southern California stores are pretty darn slow about putting out the sale prices (or not at all). It drives me nuts. I found one Wal-Mart out of four with the Sphinx Secret Surprise marked down (grabbed all four out of frustration!). The (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Pink Houses (not the song) was Re: How many sets?

(...) I said a Pink Hotel. Think Art Deco. I grew up in the area around Tampa Bay. On St Pete Beach there is a large hotel, built in the 20s I believe, called the Don CeSar. Its pink. It should be modeled someday. Although to do so, I suspect I'd (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.build)

  LEGO sensor

Some of the expansion board kits (all? sorry, haven't been paying much attention to the extension boards yet) mention that they have slots for LEGO style sensors. Does this mean the sensors they use on their RCX/Mindstorms stuff? What's the (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  LDraw-Mode vs. BezGen... problems?

after playing with BezGen recently, I've managed to get a complete hold on using it and implementing hoses in my models... but up until now i've only used the prefab-length hoses (part #73590B (URL) this is created in BezGen (or the old DOS-based (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: How to tell if a set's been discontinued

(...) I just heard, BTW, that 8445 Indy Storm has been "discontinued" in the U.S. market. --Todd p.s. INDY® is a registered trademark of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation. (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: How to tell if a set's been discontinued

To check if a set is still available, call Lego Customer Affairs and ask them the set numbers. They sell all the sets that stores get too(unless the sets were hidden in the warehouse somewhere:). The number is 1-800-453-4677 in America. -- Legoer, (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Traffic at Lugnet?

(...) It has, yes. (...) It's a return to "normal" levels (300-500 messages/day during the week, 200-300 messages/day on weekends) after the huge "abnormal" jump in December due to the catalogs and the appearance of LEGO Direct. Those were some (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

New Minifig Reference Site & Official Delurk

Dear AFOLs. For my official delurking, I've decided to put up a reference site showing: 1) Minifigs that do not appear in the Fibblesnork Guide. 2) Some figs that are in the Fibblesnork Guide, but without masks, helmets, etc., so you can see their (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Higher voltage for HB battery

I would like to know whether the HB can be used with a 12 V (ten AA cell) NiCd battery instead of the standard 9.6 V (eight AA cell) NiCd battery. Specifically, (1) Would the HB be damaged by the higher voltage, (2) Would the HB function properly (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: A village challenge and questions ...

(...) First I have a question for you. Are the buildings in your village going to be not-quite-complete buildings like the Blacksmith Shop, Armor Shop, Guarded Inn, etc? (All facades, basically.) Or are you going to build complete, realistic, (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jan-00, to lugnet.castle)
