  Re: New sets in Dallas!

(...) Brent: To the best of my knowledge 2000 SW sets haven't appeared in Houston yet, and I'm becoming desperate! Did that Target in Plano have a lot of stock? I might either drive to Plano or have a relative pick one up on her way into Houston. Do (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Observation on the 8000 Pit Droid

While building the 8000 Pit Droid (which is pretty cool, btw) the other day, I noticed something: The round disc piece used as the nose is none other than one of the new Robo Rider wheels in green. I was glad to see this, as it seemed silly to (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Powering trains w/ RCX

(...) This is the big 'down side' of the 1.5. The computers themselves are identical, and you can run 1.5 software on the older brick. For the educational market (dacta stuff), Lego are still supplying all the units with the jacks. The suggestion is (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  8520 wheel type?

I noticed that 8520 has (8440)-race-car-style tires as feet. The wheels are blurred in all box and catalog pictures, such that one can (intentionally?) not see whether the wheels are the old-shape metallized wheels as in the yellow 1999 racer, or (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Seeking info - Defense Archer - Europe only set?

I don't think that is available yet. And, apparently that picture was not supposed to debut so soon, as we've been told, and they would prefer we didn't discuss it. It "sounds" like a polybag set, except in one of those little bitty boxes. Maybe (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Seeking info - Defense Archer - Europe only set?

(...) Well, I also remember this mini-set... and recently John DiRienzo posted something that had 4801 and 4807 as numbers for sets (that he didn't have scans for, but he knows about, I guess), so it's probably one of those... I checked Lego's site (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: The updated PARTS.LST online?

(...) It is? Well, duh. Thanks for the info. Anyway, I still think that a browsable parts.lst could be a good idea. Sometimes I have the need to look up a part name or number when I'm not on a system with LDraw on it, and I think perhaps others may (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Seeking info - Defense Archer - Europe only set?

When I was looking at the lego.com catalog a few weeks ago to preview the new Castle sets (they have since vanished - a mistake at LEGO?), I saw under the Knight's Kingdom heading a small set that greatly interested me. I didn't write down the name (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Lego get together in DFW? When Where?

I offered up my humble abode for a get-together... i'm off the 24th through the 28th... and could do an evening thing on the 29th or 30th... if people are going to be around after the 1st, we could maybe try to put something together on the (...)   Re: Longest train?

PNLTC did 63 or 65 cars at the Feb '99 GATS show in Portland. We had three engines, but I'm not sure if it was three or five motors total. We had two engines pulling and one pushing at the end. Are all your motors pulling? How do you keep it from (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)
