  Cool Y2K set observations

I recently picked up a few Y2K set. Here are a few unmentioned notes of interest. The artic combo set is a monstrosity of juniorizaton. It does have a polar bear, two parka dudes, a neon orange scorpion, and a trans blue spider. The A-wing and (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

  Language slipping?

Hmm. Hate to be the guy who calls this out, but I've noticed a higher than normal use of "casual use" vulgarity in the last few weeks. Not really from any single "offender" or anything, nor used in a particularly offensive way, but it's there. Just (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Good starting train set

I know I probably should ask this question in lugnet.trains, but then I'd get suggestions that were unavailable in the UK. So I hope people don't mind me asking here. I'm looking to get into Trains, what would be a good set to start with? I know (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Many moons ago on RTL, someone from Europe (I can't remember who it was.) pointed out that the "horn" piece in Technic models is NOT the same as the palm-tree segment, the difference being the Technic version had inner tabs that would lock a (...)   2000 LEGO

Hello all, I'm just wondering if anyone in CO has seen any 2000 sets. I've been checking the Fort Collins Toys R Us, Target, Walmart, and a couple of small independent toy stores. No luck so far, even in finding out any information on when they (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.co)

  price gouging on RIS

I noticed this ad today in the Tribune: LEGO Mindstorm Robotics invention systems. Factory sealed, un-opened. only $350. 801-376-8922. (...) Or trans-blue "orbs" (mini-fig heads), like the "crystal ball" (trans-clear head) used for some of the Fright Knights sets. This would be sort-of-roundish, but also have the virtue of being connectable. Franklin (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)
