  Re: Canadian Tire

Just a FYI in case someone from the US is thinking of striking it rich buying these sets and reselling them for $1.50US. The $1.49 + tax (in BC) is $1.70Cdn. $1.50US = $2.25Cdn Profit = 0.55 Cdn The four Canadian Tires I visited, only one had them (...) (...) Me too! Take care of Larry first, but I'd love to buy or trade for a bunch of 2885s. Sincerely, /Eric McCarthy/ (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: IR tower question

Thanks a lot, Reimer, for answering the Ir question. This gives a starting point for more playing around with the Ir. If only my palm had IR--maybe for Xmas. Really clever idea for creating the 38kHz carrier. Mike Reimer Mellin <davmel@primenet.com> (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: LEGO Outlet @ Potomac Mills Mall is now shipping!

(...) The way it was explained to me on the phone is that they are not allowed to post or otherwise advertise on the web about their stock and prices. Basically you need to call them to find out the details. You can also try sending email to (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: UKLUG Prototype online

Looks very good. A couple of suggestions though. Firstly, I'd echo Larry's point about frames - but more than that, I can't see any reason why this page should use frames at all. Doesn't look like any of the frames will need separate scrollbars. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Any one know these email addresses?

(...) Ya! But then I'd want another couple of t-shirts to match my minifigs :) Richard (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Interested in older catalogs

I know some of you guys have extensive colletions of the Lego and Shop at Home catalogs. Since I have only been back into Legos for a couple of years my library is very limited. Is anyone interested in bringing to the next meeting some of their (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  RE: External Power Port Problem..?

Be very careful. I think they removed not only the plug but the rectifier circuit so do not use the Lego supply connected to the battery terminals. They may have protection against inserting the batteries backwards but then you would be connecting (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Canadian Tire

(...) Like Larry, I could use a bunch of these: 10 of 2872 and 10 of 2885, and I'd pay the $1.50 + shipping too. If anyone is willing....thanks! Paul Sinasohn bearitone@my-deja.com (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Tilt (fwd)

(...) I heard of an IC that would give an absolute bearing. This would be quite useful for knowing the orientation of the bot. Has anybody seen stuff like that ? Cheers, --Jonathan (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: External Power Port Problem..?

Yeah, they'll replace them just this once... You send them your 1.0 bricks and they will replace them with 1.5 bricks. Problem solved -- no more battery packs for you. Those Lego wall warts are current limited to less than 1A (IIRC). Your battery (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: When is "Not an Auction" really an auction?

(...) If you insist. :) But to me, an auction is anything where the final price is determined by 1 seller and multiple (potential) buyers. So, yes, OBO's and SB auctions are the same thing. Auctions. <grin, duck> The difference to me is as much one (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

  RE: External Power Port Problem..?

(...) This is interesting. I own a 1.5 RCX (still wondering why it's marked 'RCX 1.0' when obviously there are two different versions, with and without the AC plug) and I've been contemplating retrofitting an AC plug with a couple of wires inserted (...)   RE: External Power Port Problem..?

Although I didn't see an "Use only Lego approved power supplies with the external power connector" in the manual, I believe Lego has no obligation to fix your RCX brick. The connector is for an external AC power pack, not a custom Lithium Ion DC (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: When is "Not an Auction" really an auction?

But they're actually not auctions in spirit. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.theory)
