  Re: Canadian Tire

(...) Like Larry, I could use a bunch of these: 10 of 2872 and 10 of 2885, and I'd pay the $1.50 + shipping too. If anyone is willing....thanks! Paul Sinasohn bearitone@my-deja.com (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Tilt (fwd)

(...) I heard of an IC that would give an absolute bearing. This would be quite useful for knowing the orientation of the bot. Has anybody seen stuff like that ? Cheers, --Jonathan (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: External Power Port Problem..?

Yeah, they'll replace them just this once... You send them your 1.0 bricks and they will replace them with 1.5 bricks. Problem solved -- no more battery packs for you. Those Lego wall warts are current limited to less than 1A (IIRC). Your battery (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: When is "Not an Auction" really an auction?

(...) If you insist. :) But to me, an auction is anything where the final price is determined by 1 seller and multiple (potential) buyers. So, yes, OBO's and SB auctions are the same thing. Auctions. <grin, duck> The difference to me is as much one (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

  RE: External Power Port Problem..?

(...) This is interesting. I own a 1.5 RCX (still wondering why it's marked 'RCX 1.0' when obviously there are two different versions, with and without the AC plug) and I've been contemplating retrofitting an AC plug with a couple of wires inserted (...)   Re: Aquanauts/Aquasharks visor question

(...) And the windscreens for Aquanauts (1st generation) were clear dark blue. Aquaraiders color was actually transparent yellow (antifreeze), as well as Hydronauts (the Sea-marines). Aaron>maniac@vol.com (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.aquazone)

  RE: External Power Port Problem..?

Although I didn't see an "Use only Lego approved power supplies with the external power connector" in the manual, I believe Lego has no obligation to fix your RCX brick. The connector is for an external AC power pack, not a custom Lithium Ion DC (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: When is "Not an Auction" really an auction?

(...) When you see an OBO in the newspaper and you call someone up and make an offer, you don't know who you're competing against either. OBO's are "sealed bid auctions" too. They're the same thing. But they're actually not auctions in spirit. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: LEGO for Life Sweepstakes

(...) Is anyone else having trouble submitting the form? It gives me an error saying "You are not authorized to view this page". I guess I'll check back tommorow. Jaka (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: When is "Not an Auction" really an auction?

(...) A sealed-bid auction is a *DEGENERATE CASE* of an auction. They're only known as "auctions" because some bozo once upon a time many years ago called them auctions. The spirit of an auction is to solicit bids and use those bids in turn to (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: 8480 for $330 ?!

(...) If only they knew about www.thetoystore.com they could have saved a packet. Even without the "mega savings" mistake of the other day it's still a good buy.   Re: Outlet Mall Locations?

(...) Well, for my two cents, I'd say that Chattanooga, TN would be the BEST place for all train-heads since it is the train capitol of North America (at least historically). It would be the perfect tie in to the magnetic track high- speed railway (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: When is "Not an Auction" really an auction?

(...) He's not dead wrong, he's decided otherwise. For an insight into his logic, see: (URL) gives some of his points. I know he's made others, but I couldn't find them easily. I think the counter guy was quite supprised when I picked up $600 worth of straight track, plus 3 sets :) (...) No. Just going to NFLD, and wanting to have my own stuff to play with. It brought me to 500 pieces of track. The biggest problem was (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)
