Re: Anyone using motors, etc. in Castle creations?

(...) plug-in transformer from one of the train sets? Not only will this support a large load of lights, but you will actually have complete remote control over the whole light array and never needlessly drain batteries. Dan (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Scout vs. RIS 1.5

Ah, one more thing that isn't mentioned too much. Most of the more interesting sensors on the RCX are powered (light, rotation). The Scout can't handle these. Consider a life restricted to touch sensing. Not unworkable, but the equation 3 = 2+1 (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) It would make sense to package the clone parts together by brand. (...) Good thought. It probably wound work quite well, just like Lego. My remaining opinion is - try to stay with the original intention of LDraw, and lets not let it be (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Thoughts on NQC for Scout

(...) That is definitely true, at least right now. Everyone who downloaded the Scout SDK agreed not to "reverse-engineer" it, and that includes figuring out the download protocol or bytecode format. As I see it, the only way the download protocol or (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Only sort of. I mean, they're only sort-of Scala characters. I'm not making any comment on the mouthiness part. The characters do not directly represent any Scala doll I've seen.   Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) That's what I was thinking. It would actually be kinda cool to have various files for different brands. A "Tyco Parts Pack" and a "Coco Brick Parts Pack", and etc. -- Steve I've always wondered how well K'nex would work in LDraw. (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
