Re: Interesting set variation noted over in RTL for 493 Space Command Center

(...) Yes, the instructions show how to make them. And those curved corner pieces can be found in the Landspeeder set, 2 in each box. -Tom McD. when replying, traces of spamcake has been found in ancient head-shrinking rituals. (25 years ago, 24-Sep-99, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space stations?

(...) That's cool Mark. Pick a homepage, any page. I wanna see, I wanna see! I've got no problem with .space including official models (especially the older ones :-) -Tom McD. when replying, some asteroids have been known to include spamcake content (...)   Re: Space stations?

(...) Excellent idea. You da man! That would make expansions much easier, and the usable interior space of any module bigger as well. If I were to employ such a design in the M3 modules (which I will, so thanks! :-) I'd keep the end flip doors in (...) (25 years ago, 24-Sep-99, to lugnet.space)

Re: truck wheels: 5563 vs 5571

(...) John, How is it that the 5563 is dumb but not the 5571? The 5563 is based on a two axle cabover design. We have one sitting outside my office. The only problem is that the rear wheels should have 2 on each side. This same problem is present on (...) (25 years ago, 24-Sep-99, to lugnet.modelteam)

  Re: Space stations?

(...) That's quite true. But I was thinking of situations where gravity would have some small influence on the station itself, perhaps with cumulative effects over time, such as being in a planet's orbit with a nearby moon pulling at it, however (...) (25 years ago, 24-Sep-99, to lugnet.space)

Re: Listening to IR via NQC

(...) If I understand you correctly, then this is more difficult than it sounds, because the IR tower shuts down after a few seconds after the PC stops transmitting. Things work fine if the PC initiates a conversation (e.g. by asking the RCX to send (...) (25 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Re: MIT Mindfest was(Re: GMLUG.ORG is up!!)

(...) Well, I do really want to come to this event, *but* ...I'm afraid I don't have the money to make a trip out to MA in addition to my planned trips places in January and over spring break. I was under the original misconception that MIT was in (...) (25 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.org.us, lugnet.robotics.events, lugnet.loc.us.il, lugnet.loc.us.ma)

More WWF pics on PNLTC site

Hi All, Come see the two new sub pages from the latest PNLTC show (WWF) in the Seattle area. The new sub pages are Wild West and City Europa. These are shot with a Kodak 260 dig-cam. The pics are stunning (even at half their native resolution). (...) (25 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

  OptoIsolators

Regarding the serial port isolator (opto-isolators are good for this) you might see if www.blackbox.com has something along those lines. You could also look up parts similar to the 4N33 to see if you could use something like that in a design. Not (...) (25 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
