[OT] decoding the LEGO #9738 IR Remote Control

Hello All: This LEGO IR remote control (#9738) is making me crazy!!!! For those of you who haven't been reading this thread, what I want to do is the following: The LEGO IR remote control is GREAT for use with 'bots using the LEGO RCX for brains. (...)   Re: Is there a device that...?

I'll vouch for the efficacy of the Fascinating Electronics board. I got one years ago after reading the series in Electronics Now/Radio-Electronics using it as a weather monitor. It works fine connected to an HP48 calculator for control of I/O as (...) (25 years ago, 19-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Using airtanks on 8868

(...) Hi Fredrik, That lack of control of the cylinders has been my experience too. You really have to barely open the valve to be able to stop in partially extended movement. I wonder if you designed a cam that would squish the tubing past the (...) (25 years ago, 19-Sep-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Looking for windows

(...) How about the Dacta doors and window set? It might be a better deal. (I'm not sure of the actual piece counts....) And you can always sell off the other pieces... maybe someone's looking for a bunch of doors. :) (25 years ago, 19-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

  FA: two Technic Control Centers

I have two Technic Control Centers from a couple sets of # 8094 that I don't really need. This is just the programmable motor controlling unit, not the complete set. Both are in excellent, barely-used condition. Bidding starts at $20 each (email (...) (25 years ago, 19-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: Current Town Projects

(...) I'm a townie now and forever. Although I've dabbled in train for my one and only town/train layout I've ever built. Now I'm kind of specialized building 6 wide LEGO fire trucks like I have been for the last 2+ years now. I'm not working on any (...) (25 years ago, 19-Sep-99, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Garage doors

(...) I actually did offer that to those who already bid on them. I didn't feel that naming the exact amount of the cash offer would be fair to the person who made it, so I simply stated that the current offer was well over $50 per lot. Even though (...)   Re: First post after the event!

Yes, many thanks Jon for hosting the event - very enjoyable and rewarding. I certainly came away pleased with the results of my trades and it was good to see some of my surplus going to appreciative homes. Looking forward to the next one, Chris (...) (25 years ago, 19-Sep-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: FOTM - on Ebay even!

I've started with a new strategy when bidding on eBay. I simply bid what I consider a good find. And I don't care if I get outbid in the last minute. There are always more than 1000 items matching "lego -star", so patience is the key word. /Tore (...) (25 years ago, 19-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

Tales from the Lego section (of the toy store)

While visiting a local toy shop I over heard two 8-12 year olds disscussing Lego. Child 1: (picks up Snowspeeder) "Cool." Child 2: (looks at price tag) "Man, Legos are too expensive." Child 2: "And what is with these Rock Raiders." Child 1: "I don't (...) (25 years ago, 19-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

  Current Town Projects

So what Town/City projects are people working on? From memory I've seen about 8-10 different town setups on the web but I'm sure there must be more. As for me I'm working on a city I hope to complete in a few weeks. I've called it Millennium City as (...) (25 years ago, 19-Sep-99, to lugnet.town)
