Re: Has Lego begun producing "war toys"?

(...) Thanks John, I think you put to words what many folks feel, but can't articulate. In the US, WWII, has already reached the level of "myth" for most kids. This is of course an unfortunate by product of a collective refusal to honor history, but (...) (17 years ago, 26-Jan-08, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Power Function control with RCX and BrickOS

(...) The toggle bit is checked in Single output mode (the documentation is not quite right for this mode) and in both single pin modes. each message is sent 5 times you need to toggle the toggle bit in every message sent. 0 1 0 1 0 1 0 1 etc. bob (17 years ago, 25-Jan-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Not just because it looks great, but because the way you've solved some problems I've run into in the past with attaching pilot and rear trucks. I've been drooling over this locomotive now (...)   Re: Power Functions infra-red RC protocol released!

(...) This is great news indeed, thank you for posting. Has anyone tried the rc train remote on a power function reciver to see if it uses the single output pwm control signals? If not, hopefully the new RC train system will be compatible. It also (...) (17 years ago, 25-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Re: Power Function control with RCX and BrickOS

(...) I don't have BrickOS, but I have been playing with the protocols in NBC. I got the twin-motor PWM mode to work in tests, and the original 'Combo direct'. But I can't get 'Single output' or either of the 'Single pin' modes to work. Have you had (...) (17 years ago, 25-Jan-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Power Function control with RCX and BrickOS

Now you can use your RCX to control LEGO Power Functions. That's right the RCX can act as a PF remote control but it can do something that the PF remote can't do yet. The RCX can do PWM with your PF reciever moduals. You do not need to install (...)   Re: Has Lego begun producing "war toys"?

(...) Playing war is fantasy. It is, boiled to its essence, acting out the struggle between good and evil. Generally speaking, fantasy works well the more removed it is from reality.
