  Re: Train doors and windows

Matt, I am probably interested in your "sub-consortium" but I still haven't figured out what parts are in question. Depending on how many of the parts I actually want makes a big difference on how much I am willing to pitch in. So, could someone (...) (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Yeah, I have a USB hub that adds 2 Com ports, a printer and 4 USB ports. Works fine with the Mindstorm software. KGB AgEnT #4 OUT AKA Clint Rutkas (URL) Said -- Did you check the web site first?: (URL) (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: RIS 1.5 defined???

Well, I saw the Droid Dev Kit & the Robotics Discovery System boxes today at a TRU. The DDK and the RDS both show a RIS 1.5 box on the back. If we assume that the box was final art, then one change is the parts count. The existing RIS 1.0 has a (...) (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Extra COM port on PC?

I checked out Entrega's 2U1S1P Multifunction USB Hub (which adds a serial port and a parallel port without requiring additional IRQs) a few weeks ago. I found the serial port ("COM3USB") worked well for a 56K modem, a Palm HotSync cradle, the RIS IR (...) (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Extra COM port on PC?

(...) If it's an internal modem, you could set the modem to use a non-standard interrupt and IO port and configure your software to match. That'll leave room for another standard port. Or you could put a couple devices on a switch box so you can use (...) (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Extra COM port on PC?

(...) Are there more than one version? I think mine (well, Taya/Nik's) ca. 1994 did. But I could be misremembering. In that case I would think nothing will work??? (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Q:Using DUPLO baseplates w/LEGO

I would think any fullheight bricks with an even number of studs in each direction ought to work, the DUPLO(r) baseplate studs are the same as the brick studs, their hollow center mates with the LEGO(r) tube. (...) (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)
