  Re: Another New NXT Utility

(...) I just uploaded a new nextscreen.zip with both versions of the NeXT Screen utility. The one which uses an image of the NXT now supports scaling via the right-click popup menu. You can scale from 1x to 4x with several fixed steps in between. I (...) (19 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: Its starting to happen...

(...) Relax, Bob. Nobody's whining here or trying to change LEGO's course, IMHO. Seems to me, this has been a pretty constructive discussion about how to adapt to using the new colors. At least up until this point... (19 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.color, FTX)

  Re: Its starting to happen...

(...) I'm afraid that new colors are here to stay. Just like 4.5v (circa 1966) trains were replaced with 12v (circa 1969) trains and then 9v (circa 1991) replaced 12v, etc. No matter how much anyone here likes/loves the original colors, Lego is not (...)   Re: Options for missing NXT Edu (9797) parts

(...) Haven't lost an NXT yet. Although it's just a matter of time. After one round with 25 Educational NXTs, I'm short 3 motors, a few sensors, some minifigs, etc. In the past few years, I've lost several RCXs. It's the nature of the beast. Half (...)   Re: Honolulu Chinatown building MOC

(...) This is very nice. It has a very believable feel to it, which I like. I particularly like the snot roofline. It is just perfect in its architectural simplicity. Definitely something I plan on copying. The lights, the interior and great ATM are (...) (19 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Another matrix inverse question (and answer?)

(...) Yes, that makes sense. Looking back at Travis's code, I see that's basically what's happening there, except that some references to the original matrix should be references to the inverse matrix. He probably used it only to invert rotations (...) (19 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

(...) Chris, Thank you very much for your comments and insight. Agreed, pivoting from the two inner trucks would reduce the overhang. There are two constraints affecting this design decision: I would like to have the three-wheel trucks on the (...) (19 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Educational Experience no longer selling LEGO

(...) Their order form has a "tick the box" where the options are "personal" and "school/childcare" so I assume this means they are happy to deal with the public.   Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

Mounting the pivots at the end, the centre of the body (...) (19 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Another matrix inverse question

(...) Som further clarification... I was back in the 3x3 matrix world when I wrote this: the true inverse of a rotation + translate in psuedo-4x4 notation is as follow [ R11 R12 R13 x R21 R22 R23 y R31 R32 R33 z 0 0 0 1 ] goes to [ R11 R21 R31 xp (...) (19 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Another matrix inverse question (and answer?)

(...) If it's only rotations then it should make sense. Another way of passing the information is as follows (M,x) where M is the matrix and x is the translation vector the inverse of this is (Mi,-Mi x) which you can see by showing that an operation (...) (19 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad)
