  Technic Manas Truck

Hey guys... Might remember me... I posted the "Millenia Car" last year (was on the side bar for ages!). Anyway, finally got around to building something else (I lead a busy life). (URL) Technic truck based around the motor packs in the Bionicle (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Microsoft Robotics Studio

(...) Please let me know if you have much success. Several of us working on a robotics project tried the Oct and Nov 2006 releases and could not get the out-of-the-box Lego NXT demo to stay connected for more than about 60 seconds, even after hours (...)   Re: Enhanced standard NXT firmware

... (...) Hi John, I just tried to load it and just tested the "Try-me" light sensor. It worked fine. Not so much help, but I can try some more another day. Good work. Rasmus (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt.nxthacking, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Battery Level NXT-G Block

I've posted a new NXT-G Block that reads the battery level from the UI module IOMAP. Can also be used as a sensor block to detect low power conditions. Details and download: (URL) Ziv NXTasy.org (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: The Brick Testament - The call of Saul who is called Paul

(...) Thanks Brendan, I always enjoy reading your updates. Or looking at the pictures anyway ;) Noticed a typo in Acts 15:6 - tesing -> testing. Regards ROSCO (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

(...) Neat. I have also (URL) used> (URL) autotrace>, a similar program. I haven't used either enough to recommend one over the other, but for some reason I do recall preferring potrace's output. (I've only used the programs, not programmed with (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Fun with LDView Fly Through (A Minifig's Eye View)

(...) Ah, that's a logical explanation. I just looked in the manual.txt that came with Anton's part library and it does state that it considers a POV-Ray unit 1 millimeter. If one (URL) LDraw unit> is equal to 0.4 mm, then the conversion probably is (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

Re: Announcing Bitsticker (and other txt/bit-to-dat utilities)

(...) Hmmm. It would appear that using the Potrace API and the Triangle API would do almost all the difficult work for software of this sort. I might look into restarting the project although I'm not sure how far I could get with it. Of course if (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Announcing Bitsticker (and other txt/bit-to-dat utilities)

--snip-- (...) Unfortunately I got too busy with other things and kind of let is slide. With a rewrite in a compiled language and using a decent triangulation (such as the one Ross uses) and vectorisation algorithm I suspect it could be made to work (...)   The Red Herring

I had to finish off a GBC module, but some unrelated pieces fell in my hands and said to me "hey, we'd make a nice boat hull"... and so I ended up doing this instead: (URL) Red Herring>> I hadn't done anything remotely space-y since my youth, so (...)   Now Is The Time To Ship MOCs To BrickFest PDX

Have some important news to pass along if you plan on shipping a MOC to Brickfest. If you have reservations for the Red Lion Hotel, you may ship your MOC there and they will not charge a holding fee.   Re: Fun with LDView Fly Through (A Minifig's Eye View)

(Moved to lugnet.cad.ray.) (...) I think Anton's library isn't in LDraw units. Since the camera placement is in LDraw units, it won't work right. If you know the conversion factor, you can probably multiply the camera location by that and have it (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

Re: Fun with LDView Fly Through (A Minifig's Eye View)

(...) Thanks for the tip, Tim! The point about LDraw (and POV-Ray) objectives being comprised of surfaces rather than solids is worth keeping in mind, too. After re-rendering the little test scene with maxtracelevel set to 8, I realized that the (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Could not upload program output file to PC

(...) In my experience, this sort of problem occurs when the file size is zero (or, more precisely, it contains zero bytes) or it is not properly closed. Can you send me a copy of your program so I can see if it has any problems? John Hansen (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) John, I agree with most of your comments and I appreciate your keeping the other side of this arguement. I would like to point out that I feel that a NPO is different than a private company. WalMart is a private company that is not required to (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

Re: Fun with LDView Fly Through (A Minifig's Eye View)

--snip-- (...) Hi Jim, The second error there is certainly to blame for the opacity. You need to add a line globalsettings maxtracelevel N where N is high enough (probably 8 will do). Partially this is because LDraw parts are constructed of surfaces (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)
