RE: multiplexed touch sensors [was: Re ideas for a RIS 2.0]

(...) The problem with the LEGO touch sensors is that their resistance varies with the force on the plunger. To get the debouncing algorithm to work, you need to know how long the switch might be in the indeterminate state. (...) Typical switch (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: multiplexed touch sensors [was: Re ideas for a RIS 2.0]

(...) Having revisited this entire sub-thread, it seems people started rambling on (constructively, I think) about switch times, debouncing, etc. Getting back to multiplexed touch sensors, I bet it's possible to get the Lego touch sensors to work (...)   Re: Train doors and windows

Hello All, I am very interested in ordering train windows and doors, however I too was waiting to see if someone was going to start taking requests. Graham Markay (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Train doors and windows

I would also be interested in buying several train doors and windows. I am not familiar with the piece numbers but I have been looking through the recommended web page: (URL) that page I have found the 4181, 4182, 4033, 4035, 4511 parts. Does anyone (...) (...) steve, did you address the issue with the inliner converting type 5 lines to type 4?? (i came across this problem again recently (in 2.0.4) and just wondered if it was on your "to fix" list for the next release) also.. this is a minor nitpick, (...)   Re: Baseball mini-figs?

(...) Has anyone tried contacting the stadium or some other authority to find out more about this? It could be a precurser to a World Cup type promotion. Jeff P.S. I hope they'll be available for the Indians and the Orioles. ;) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: wishing upon a star

Hi guys, I would urge caution on the creation of complex codes to identify pieces. I admit, I am prejudiced. I worked on a database management project back in the early 80s for a water-quality study in which water samples were identified with a (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Re: Train doors and windows

Christopher, Like Frank, I was waiting for this to be confirmed as "the real deal" before I pursued it. But, I am interested if someone makes the pieces available. Thanks, Steve (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Conversation w/ a LEGO Rep (is now "Solving the world's problems")

I know this thread is being cross-posted to debate, but I'll ask again, shouldn't this be moved solely to the debate newsgroup? It seems like an enlightening discussion, I just don't see the relationship to LEGO any longer. Thanks, Steve (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  RCX Battery Source

Hi All, My old cellular "bag-phone" died a while back and I replaced it with a nice teeny tiny PCS phone. I had bought the 12V 2.3Ah sealed lead battery as an option with the original phone. It is WAY smaller than the 4Ah monsters I'm using for (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Train doors and windows

Add me to your list, So what can we expect to pay for train windows and doors? If $1.00 or $2.00 each, I'll take 20 of each in all colours provided they come with clear split glass. We also need to remember that the other hard parts to get are low (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Train doors and windows

I'm very interested in the train windows (especially in white) doors (white) and bases. If this really gets off the ground, count me in. Kevin (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

RE: touch sensors aren't just switches (was Re: ideas for a RIS 2.0

(...) The debouncing isn't the real problem, it's the variable resistance as the switch is being pressed which alaises the touch sensor. By building a MUX circuit which does thresholding and debouncing you effectively make the system way more (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)
