  Re: GBC- Magnetic Ball Separator

Bah! I was simply too lazy to look it up myself. :D (And Peeron has been loading pages very slowly for me lately.) (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NEW SOFTWARE: PicToBrick - Make your own mosaic!

(...) Is their paper anywhere on their site? I'd like to read it. (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: RAAF Boomerang - wow! real bricks

(...) You sure I didn't just get really, really good at rendering ;) Tim (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: We may have to come up with somethign bigger...

(...) Yes, this is correct. The slowest station on the line will be the limiting factor in the production rate. That said, I don't think we need to "one up" anything, this is purely for fun. We've never done a large group collaborative project other (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Re: RAAF Boomerang - wow! real bricks

(...) Ha, that's funny, and yet so true. And nice (tangible) work, Tim! JOHN (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

(...) (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.it.itlug)

  Re: Proposed Assembly Line Project

(...) That's what I figured. Not having any of these motors, I cobbled it in LDRAW, and the clips in the model are too low. I figure I'll just make a dolly the same size from bricks and the old train wheels (with the metal axle from the 4.5V days) (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: RAAF Boomerang - wow! real bricks

(...) That's a very smart design. I like the way the cockpit glass is done. Still, if you'd asked me yesterday I would have said it was impossible - but if anyone was going to actually run out of digital bricks and have to resort to plastic ones to (...)   Re: We may have to come up with somethign bigger...

(...) That's right! We have to agree that everyone will try and meet some maximum time. No worm gears allowed! :) (...) Well, we could, but that would get pretty complicated in a hurry, I think. But it's not unlike the Montrac system - there are (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Re: We may have to come up with somethign bigger...

(...) Correct me if I'm wrong, but the cadence will be set by the slowest assembly cell, correct? So if your goal is a a fast cadence, you need *every* cell to meet at least that minimum requirement. Or, since you are using train track, with (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

  Re: Proposed Assembly Line Project

(...) There are small plastic clips at the base of the train motor; these clasp under the 1x3 inverted slopes to lock them in place (quite ridgidly, I might add). You can see them in the photo; once the RCX dark grey base is loaded on top, it ties (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

NEW SOFTWARE: PicToBrick - Make your own mosaic!

Hello! I'm posting this on behalf of Tobias Reichling: (URL) Hi, we - Adrian Schütz and Tobias Reichling, two German students (computer science) - have passed our diploma with the title: "Generating mosaics from multicolor raster graphics by (...)   Re: Great window idea - not mine

(...) That's the back of headlight bricks though isn't it? I think even TLG have used them before. It was my mistake though... I should have said "bottom" not "back". Tim (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

  Re: Proposed Assembly Line Project

(...) So what holds the grey and yellow "bumpers" on? Do they just hook on the motor hooks or are they actually attached somehow? -Rob A> (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: We may have to come up with somethign bigger...

(...) When I saw (URL) battery tester> I instantly was curious how they'd be measuring voltage. I choked on my water when I saw what they did; that's truly brilliant. I love it! -Iain PS - Off topic, but I think the other folders in my (URL) (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Re: We may have to come up with somethign bigger...

(...) I'm going to go cry. :( Seriously though, these other assembly projects are incredible, but all have one major flaw (in my eyes): They're slow. I'm expecting if we pull this off, we'll have a cadence of a few seconds per car; maybe 10 or so, (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Great window idea - not mine

(URL) The back of 1x1 bricks do make really neat small windows. It's such a simple technique but so effective. I know I'll be using this if the opportunity ever arises. Tim (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: ED-209

(...) I loved it too, but I saw it on the tube a few years back... the CGI is really hard to take now. Though the 'Greetings Starfighter!!!' never gets old, and Preston was completely on his mark. Dave K -hear that you slimes! I'm famous! (19 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
