  Re: A quick LEGO History

The 1932 date is when toys were first produced. Prior to that, it's more Christiansen family business ventures. 1932 = startup of toys. 1949 = bought their first injection molding machine, and started making the Automatic Binding Bricks. The (...) (19 years ago, 24-Dec-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: New TLC standard for containers?

It makes a lot of sense - give the KIDS a container large enough to actually have room for placing things inside. AFOLs can always use their own/old "standard". (19 years ago, 24-Dec-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New TLC standard for containers?

(...) Welll yes and no. Indeed it's a new element from Lego however megablox has had that element for a while. In the megajunk version they used it as a translucent window. This new "now Lego" element opens doors too much lighter models especially (...) (19 years ago, 24-Dec-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: A quick LEGO History

(...) So, out of curiosity, why is this usually called the starting date? I always hear it quoted that Lego started in 1932, but I'm not sure why people quote that rather than 1895 or 1916. From what I know (from 50 Years of Play book): 1895 - (...) (19 years ago, 24-Dec-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Bluetooth and windows 2000

I am using a Compaq (HP) nc8000 laptop which has a built-in BT device and it works fine with Windows 2000, so BT should be OK on W2K (with the right device).   Mech Repair Facility

Greetings all, I finally finished the project I have been working on for three long months. It is a Star League era Mech Repair Facility from the Battletech Universe. (...) I realized in this picture, you can see a little more of the part in the lower left of this image. (URL) Since the part is at the core of the joint, it is hard to see it.   Re: BrickLink down?

Re: New TLC standard for containers?

(...) Could well be. Also looks like a new bigger boat hull - AFAIK the largest to date is (URL) this> (besides the (URL) Belville one>), and this looks considerably larger than that - at least 16 wide, and by my count at least 70 long. ROSCO (19 years ago, 23-Dec-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  A quick LEGO History

Someone on a local Detroit area Historic Preservation site asked me if "LEGO By Samsonite" meant that Samsonite sold the company to LEGO. Well I went off on a long tangent, and I thought I would cut/paste it here on a LEGO forum. Since I wrote this (...) (19 years ago, 23-Dec-06, to lugnet.general)

  Best year

Dear Lego, You've restored my faith in the company. If you asked me last week, I would have said 1991 was the best year ever for Lego town.   New castle line

I'm actually pretty saddened that an entire new castle line is introduced and Lugnet doesn't have a single post on it, whereas there are pages of stuff elsewhere. Geez, what happened to this forum? (19 years ago, 23-Dec-06, to lugnet.castle)
