This was probably one of the hardest things for me I've ever built. I'm really glad the recipient loved it :-) (2 URLs) PLMKWYT! :) (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX) !

Re: Tupolev TU 104 Passenger plane

(...) That is a big droop! I thought dihedral was upwards toward the tips, or does it cover both up and down? The Sopwith Camel was always described as having a noticable dihedral on its lower wings combined witha flat upper wing to give it a (...) (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Tupolev TU 104 Passenger plane

(...) Wow. That plane certainly needs some Viagra(tm)... I didn't realise they drooped so much. Might be time for a version 2 I think (ps. replied to your other post at jlug). Tim (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Tupolev TU 104 Passenger plane

(...) Actually I was referring to what could be called the "wing droop" as shown in this photo: (URL) (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: [involves Tim Gould again] Re: Ease up on marking folders Avatar

(...) Um, how exactly is (URL) directly feedback on what you asked? You asked "P.S.S Could not post to: lugnet.announce.brickshelf", to which Jeff replied "The lugnet.announce.brickshelf group is postable to only by Kevin (and perhaps a few other (...)   Re: Tupolev TU 104 Passenger plane

--snip-- (...) Thanks. Do you mean the teardrop cross-section (my first plane and I have no idea of the terminology)? I tried to capture it a bit but with the limited range of wing parts available I didn't get it quite as much as I would like. (...) (...) (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Tupolev TU 104 Passenger plane

(...) Doh! I forget to ask you if you had any plans for making or if you could work on a Tu-95/Tu-142 Bear bomber next? Now that could even win some contests I bet... (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Tupolev TU 104 Passenger plane

(...) This is a great looking rendition - you have captured the feel of it nicely imho! I believe the real world plane has a noticable dihedral for the main wings which I imagine might be a tad hard to show here (or is it just the limitation of this (...) (...) Actually, scrub that, I'm wrong. The answer was in the Zerostuds forum but I can't check it now. Tim (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Tupolev TU 104 Passenger plane

Hi all, After being inspired by seeing the work of BS user (URL) Gallery> in real life at 1000steine Land (can someone fill me in with his name, I never caught it) I decided to combine his size and style of old-fashioned passenger plane with my love (...)   Re: Ease up on marking folders Avatar

(...) The avatar tag gets applied to folders that don't have a Lego image as their first one (alphabetically) IIRC from something Kevin posted on the Zerostuds forum, which appears to have disappeared. Tim (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Resale shops / whose been geting your brick buck this year?

most of my purchases have come from new sets and pretty much all of the rest have been at a local second hand toy shop that I go to (they do LEGO by the part and by the set and I am one of their best customers) Right now though I have pretty much (...)   Re: Looking for Star Wars Base Plate

(...) Sorry, I don't know the part number, but I have a tip. When I'm looking for a part that I don't know the name to, I'll look up the inventory for a set that has that part. That usually does the trick. Good luck! -Bryan (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Resale shops / whose been geting your brick buck this year?

(...) Maybe it's a socio/geographic thing. I live in Chicago so there are dozens of resale shops, and enough affluence that alot of folks just prefer to drop it off for that warm-fuzzy-feeling and tax write off rather than bother with Ebay. I do (...) (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Is that the most positive and enlightend contribution you can (...) (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general)

Re: Resale shops / whose been geting your brick buck this year?

(...) Wow and congrats! Your experience has certainly been different than mine. My wife and I used to hit the thrift stores every week. We stopped going two years ago for two reasons: 1) We realized our house was full of junk that we didn't need. 2) (...) (20 years ago, 25-Aug-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)
