  Re: Dark Red Hogwarts (teasers)

(URL) Hi John and Ross! Your latest train creations are just schleiming rocking cool! Thanks for sharing.   Re: The Brick Testament - The Teachings of Jesus

(...) Good call. I hadn't realized that you can pull the steering wheel off of its base. But be careful if you try this. One out of the three wheels I pulled off broke a piece of the base off with it. The computer screen tile is then just (...) (20 years ago, 17-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

  Dark Red Hogwarts (teasers)

This is the culmination of a project that began years ago. Ross first built his version of the Hogwarts Express in time for me to bring to Brickfest PDX back in Feb 2004, but he always wanted to convert it to dark red when the necessary parts became (...)   Re: Overlapping primitives - a reason to Hold a part?

(...) First of all, you're right about the fact that there's no hole in the surface under studs, and this technically results in incorrect rendering. However, it's not something that people notice. Additionally, the missing hole under studs is (...) (20 years ago, 17-Jul-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Overlapping primitives - a reason to Hold a part?

Re: The Brick Testament - The Teachings of Jesus

(...) Brendan, As always, fantastic job. My favorite bit was the rubber band and hat as the turban--I had just used some Lego rubber bands in a vig of my own and I think it worked so well I'll be going back to that technique again. Anyway, I'd also (...) (20 years ago, 17-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

  Re: Wedding Cake Tower

I have been lucky enough to see this belville vortex in the brick. I also hope to see more photos as this pic realy doesn't do justice to the detail of the peice. Stairwells, gallows, ect. Well done Pete. Perhaps if you post more photos, you might (...) (20 years ago, 17-Jul-06, to lugnet.belville)

  Re: New MOC: Hogwarts Express

(...) Are you sure the Hogwarts Express is dark red? I know many preserved Mk1 coaches are dark red (maroon) in the UK, but for the films the engine was painted bright red instead of its usual green (ruffling a few feathers in the rail enthusiast (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Overlapping primitives - a reason to Hold a part?

(...) Travis and Guy have covered the two major issues with overlapped surfaces. As a parts-admin, my view is that while it is better to not overlap surfaces, in some cases the complications required to avoid overlapping are not worth it. So it (...)   A missed opportunity? Too late?

I just got back from 6 days of canoeing down the Missouri River in central Montana, following some of the trail of Lewis and Clark, explorers who, exactly two hundred years ago (1806), completed their historic trek from St Louis to the Pacific Ocean (...)
