Re: What pieces do you wish existed?

Hey Lar, go for it, especially if it makes TLG's systems look downright primitive by comparison (that should be easy). Gary Istok (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Jonathan Wilson's posting privileges on LUGNET

(...) I like this idea as well. But I think we should wait on the results of the vote first - because he has gone over the edge with his antics (as far as I'm concerned) and I'd like to see a break where I don't have to worry about his posts at all.   LEGOLAND trains

Just some info for anyone that is trying to make a garden railroad. The distance from the inside of the rails is 73 mm. So if you want to make your garden railroad as close to the LEGOLAND trains then that would be the distance you would space the (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: What pieces do you wish existed?

Scott, In 2004, when they open up the three permanent downtown Detroit Casino's (MGM Grand, Circus Circus, etc) on the riverfront (800 million dollars each), there will probably be something like the "Caesar's World of Shops" (in Las Vegas). That is (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  6748

Can anyone tell me about 6748? I don't think this set was avilable in the UK? - if anyone has one for sale/trade I may be interested. Jakey UK (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

You're finally coming out of the closet? :-) Does that mean I can post our pics? John1 even finished his first ever model in the model shop ahead of me..... -john (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Web page update - spaceships

(...) Those are the best ships I have EVER seen! They actually look real, and they are far better than anything TLG has come up with, be it an actual set or not. One thing though: What are those green/yellow tubes on the back of the first ship? Greg (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  How much for a 6090?

I was shopping today and found a interesting little toy store that I hadn't seen before. I went in and they had lots of the new sets, but lo and behold they had a MIMB 6090 Royal Knight Castle, but it was $115 dollars. The lugnet database gave a (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: What pieces do you wish existed?

While I'm not a "Mozillionaire" either, I have done well in the Stock Market in the last 5 years (thanks partly to the pending sale of my former employer - Ameritech). I plan on retiring in about 7 years (I'll be 53), and devoting my fulltime (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Web page update - spaceships

I've added a few more spaceships to my web page. These were constructed (and photographed) nearly a decade ago when I was still at school. More recent MOCs will come when I get hold of a digital camera... (URL) well everyone, Paul (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: L.A. Times article on Legoland 'masters'

(...) I actually got a chance to be a model builder for a couple of hours when I visited Enfield with John Kelly. Yea, it was fun, but I don't think I'd want to do it for long. Building several hundred (or more) copies of the exact same model gets (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Parts packs being discontinued? My rep says "no"

(...) This very apparent to anyone who has looked at Lego's parts pack selections in the 60's and 70's. In 1963 there were over 138 different parts packs available. What is it today, less than 20? Gary Istok (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: L.A. Times article on Legoland 'masters'

  new pneumatic cylinders?

I built the 8448 last week. Clever set, fun to build. Last night I picked it up, and the gull-wing doors wouldn't open. Turns out the new 'pneumatic'/'hydraulic' cylinders were both broken, the springs had pushed down into the cylinders. Apparently, (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Re: Jonathan Wilson's posting privileges on LUGNET

(...) I like this idea, but I think a self-regulated restriction would be better than a system-imposed limit, for several reasons: 1. Todd doesn't have to develop the solution. 2. It's a simple, measurable way for Jonathan to show (in)compliance. 3. (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.starwars)
