Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 5]

(...) Ah, finally the penny (rather than other unsavoury matter) drops! So what old model rail trick do you have to do to the track to make it work in a neat and orderly fashion? (Good grief, it's like pulling teeth. Remind me not to try anything (...) (20 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 5]

(...) I guess I must finally accept the truth that it is nothing to do with excrement :( What it looks like to me is a controller for a end-to-end tram line. Or some such. (Do trams have toilets??) ROSCO (20 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Little white shooting bot

--SNIP-- (...) That is Soren's work. I made an edge-line only render by converting the model to white and fiddling with the settings in ldview and he coloured using his colouring book techniques in Photoshop. Looks great IMO. Tim (20 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 5]

(...) Close, but note there's nothing that could {input} the position of a train to trigger a polarity change at the right moment. It does hook directly up to the controller as Mathew suggested. Jason R (20 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: NXT to NXT communication?

I haven't seen any discussion on the performance of the bluetooth messaging. I've measured PC to NXT round trip (send message and receive acknowledgement) as typically being 30 milliseconds. Has anyon else done these measurements and were your (...) (20 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Robert, that is really nice. What I like most is that it's "rough" from using a few pieces, but was instantly recognizable. Great job. I'm glad you posted the rest of your gallery as well, there's a ton of great stuff in there that I haven't (...) (20 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: NXT to NXT communication?

(...) So, if any NXT can be both master and slave, could you hook 3 of them up in a triangle? A is master over B, B over C, and C over A? (20 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Well, this is what I think I'll bring this weekend...

  NXT interface

We've all seen screenshots of the Labview programming environment that ships with the NXT. I'm curious about the interface on the actual NXT (with the standard firmware). How does the menu system work? Obviously there are size limits to how much (...) (20 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT memory limits

(...) Yes. Successfully. There is already software available for converting .wav files. (thanks MDPs) Of course, they can't be too big. One of the first things I did was replace the goofy startup sound with a smaller one. There's also software to (...) (20 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)
