Re: Help with converting voltage on circuit board

(...) Hi Dustin, I am an EE. Before I give you some advice, I need a bit more information about 9750 (I have never seen one in person): - I see a power jack: I assume this powers the electronic circuit, not the loads, right? What voltage is applied (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: lowering noise

(...) I find this interesting. I obviously have a different opinion of what constitutes flaming. Calling people "lackeys" seems like flaming to me. As does comparing them to "Baghdad Bob". Could you explain to me why this is not flaming? On a (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.people, FTX)

Re: Will NXT will work on Intel Macs ???

(...) The system requirements at lego.com say it requires MacOS X v. 10.3.9 or 10.4 and I'm pretty sure that runs on Intel Macs? So I'm guessing yes. But you could always contact LEGO customer support and ask. They might be able to help. ROSCO (20 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Help with converting voltage on circuit board

(...) Wow - I remember those, we used them at school. Now why is it that Peeron do not have an entry for it under 9750? Those are also some big old capacitors, I would be inclined to check out their ESR (a rating of their health if you like) before (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

All is in the subject... Thanks, - Christophe - (20 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: lowering noise

(...) I hadn't seen that thread, but having just looked at it I have to agree with Kelly-- Mark was not flaming at all. In the post you cite above I sense Mark's frustration at the reaction he got from his question, which, while perhaps indelicate, (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.people, FTX)

Re: Help with converting voltage on circuit board

(...) I am not an EE either but I can see at least 2 things that look like voltage regulators. (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: lowering noise

(...) I don't consider it respectful and nor did Todd or Lenny from what I could see. I find the whole thread very distasteful and would be very unhappy to see more like it. Out of interest do you find (URL) this post> respectful? (...) If Mark had (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.people, FTX)

  Factory Numbers ect.

We have been having a discussion at the JLUG forum (proving that it is not entirely about the demise of LUGNET as a posting option!) and have been discussing the Lego #'s vice the LDraw numbers. I have posted the following: - Well, if there was a (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

Help with converting voltage on circuit board

I'd like to try to convert the output of the voltage on a 9750 from 4V to 12V (to control 12V trains :). I've taken a photo of the internal circuit board - my rudimentary EE knowledge leads me to be believe I need to swap out the transistors that (...)
