Sounds simple, proving to be a pain... Design a robot that will cover "x" inches in exactly "y" time regardless of the surface (carpet vs. tile, for instance). The best I've been able to do is roughly target time +/- 20%. Jim (25 years ago, 16-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

The book -- written in the late 80's if I remember it correctly, is a great read, and one that inspired several people working in Artifical Life. A big problem with ultrasonic sensors is the power they consume to create the ultrasonic beacon. I don't think the RCX sensor port has enough output to run one of these. I've started to experiment with the sound generator built into the RCX as the (...) (25 years ago, 16-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)
