  Re: MacFrugals

I still don't know if I can make the meeting, though I am going to try. I only found 1 6506 at the Sunnyvale TRU, I'd like about 10 of them, if you can pick them up for me.   Re: Part number needed & New primitive submission

[followups set to lugnet.cad.dev] (...) Looks like box.dat is the only one based on a 2x2x2 cube, all the other box*.dat primitives are 2x1x2, Y[0,1]. So this new primitive should be written the same way. (...) Clear naming would be nice, but we (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Part number needed & New primitive submission

[followups set to lugnet.cad.dev - let's reign in this multi-ng discussion] (...) See my other post. The A key is very nice, it saves 5 keystrokes. But it isn't a reason to create a part in a bizarre orientation. Steve (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Part number needed & New primitive submission

(...) Hmm. That's not *exactly* the intended guideline. Rotatable parts should be positioned so the axis of rotation lies on one of the major axes. That way, the part can be easily rotated to any angle. (...) But the A key function is only useful if (...)   Re: New SW contest proposal

Are you sure it's illegal? I always knew it was risky, but illegal? Why would it be? -Dave Jr. (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: New SW contest proposal

(...) Nah, it would probably cost approx $5 to buy small notes. (There does exist a $5 note, right?) (...) It's illegal, but it's probably safe enough. Fredrik (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Cross-posting of NELUG announcemnt

I just wanted to post a short follow-up to the NELUG announcement seeing I won't have access to a computer until sometime Sunday before the "Golden Ticket Event".   Re: Millennium Slizer (Throw Bot)

(...) Sounds cool! I'm not too happy about things being called Millennium this and Millennium that, but as long as it's LEGO, I can live with it. BTW, do anybody know if the Slizer (Throw Bots) range is successful? Does it sell well? Just today the (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Fully suspended Technic chassis

(...) Yes, I'd say so. Certainly, this chassis wouldn't be solid enough for a large rig, say, but for a light racing car, it feels right. I've tried to bend the chassis various ways to test the rigidity, and it feels solid enough. Certianly, it does (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

  RE: LNP Repost

(...) I think Kekoa means that we should calculate the CRC16 and use only the high byte in the message, to save space. If we then tag the low byte on later, the old code expecting only the high byte won't break.... Cheers, Ralph Hempel - P.Eng (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  RE: Fully suspended Technic chassis

(...) (URL) I was wondering about the lack of beams ( I only looked at the front view ) Is there enough rigidity using ( ingeniously ) axles as frame members? This would, of course, be realistic since many classic roadsters used the space frame (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Message from TLG!

This is very exciting. The page of relevant links includes both LUGNET and Russel Nelson's Mindstorms Internals page. (The event is hosted by MIT, not LEGO, so I assume no corporate myopia will limit the scope.) If anyone didn't get the email, (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)
