Tiger Woods is a .Space kind of guy

In this weeks edition (12/16/2004) issue of Sports Illustrated, Steve Rushin's Air and Space column covers some of the favorite toys some atheletes received for Christmas. As it turns out, Tiger Woods was a LEGO Space (Classic I am sure based on his (...) (21 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.space)

how to make coal for a tender?

How can I do good looking coal for a coal tender? The tender has an open face that points to the cab (so they can shovel the coal into the firebox) (21 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.trains)

Price of automation... (Was Re: Say What???)

In lugnet.trains, Bryan Kinkel wrote: <snip> (...) Why? A remote automated switch (assuming you mean one you can switch remotely) from LEGO would run about $35-$50 per point! It's so much cheaper to do it yourself using one of the half-dozen plans (...) (21 years ago, 16-Dec-04, to lugnet.trains)

Some houses for a new GATS layout

Hi All, I was totally inspired by a street of houses that I saw displayed at BrickFest in DC last summer (04) and wanted to build some for myself. Of course I mentioned that I wanted to "copy" these to the original builder (I forgot his name, so (...) (21 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town)

  Re: Nuovo firmware per RCX

Salve a tutti, volevo scaricare anche io il nuovo firmware, ma mi sono ritrovato con una specie di fle TXT, pieno di codici esadecimali. Scusate la mia ignoranza, ma come faccio a scaricarlo sull'RCX ? grazie saluti Giuliano Beduglio (21 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.it.itlug)

  Re: Cats and Lego

(...) We have a cat and 3 dogs. The cat is ALWAYS in the middle of whatever I am building at the time, pouncing on any stray piece that may fall from the table. Although for reasons unknown to me, he prefers the green Lego shrub piece the best. I (...) (21 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.build)

  Rarest Lego Road Plate

It has been very quiet in lugnet.general lately.... Most collectors are not aware of this road plate (on EBAY, two are shown): (URL) was the first ever ABS Lego road plate, and was produced from 1970-72, only for the USA Samsonite Lego market. It is (...) (21 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Lego Models of Fenway Park, Wally the Green Monster to be Auctioned at MLB.com

(...) Well, we just wrapped up our holiday party and ran back to the shop to put the finishing touches on the Fenway model a few hours ago. I gotta say this was a great but challenging and nerve-wracking model to work on. Sheesh, there's not a (...) (21 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.mediawatch, FTX) !

  Re: Grade Crossing Signal Thingy...

(...) Try braking. This is from memory so might be all wet... If you just turn power off, the motor coasts to a stop. But supposedly you can send the motor a speed 0 command, I think, and the motor stops right then, frozen in place. It takes more (...) (21 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Why I have been posting all this stuff to Starship lately.

(...) All very nice. This was my original plan, as well, though I never stated it publicly. I figured this: If Faction A mass-produces something and puts it on sale, surely Faction A wouldn't be the only ones to buy it. Therefore, there'd be others (...) (...) Very nice! Wow, that base is huge. Too bad that black doesn't photograph well. I'll bet that it's even more impressive in person. Oh wait, you've disassembled it, haven't you?   It's over, please...

Um, you do realize that the issue has ended. Please stop facilitating the discussion.
