Re: Captain Cool-Guy: The Expanded Universe

(...) The rat only took one night to build- as compared to about a week and a half for the others. Actually, Major attitude is my favorite, but her picks came out the worst. I think it was my choice of a yellow background. What can you do? I have (...) (21 years ago, 24-Nov-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Captain Cool-Guy: The Expanded Universe

(...) Dr Dopamine is actually a spoof on my boss. Elements of the character are poking fun of things inside the lab. But the funny thing is that I showed him the picture and he said the same things. "I love it. Lets make a poster of it and hang it (...) (21 years ago, 24-Nov-04, to lugnet.build)

Re: Captain Cool-Guy: The Expanded Universe

(...) Thanks. Working at this scale has been a fun experience. I certainly look at the potential of pieces in a new way (probably the same thing a lot of micro builders are saying). Felix (21 years ago, 24-Nov-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: to LEGO factory : You are not being fair.

It does look like the week 1 winner that violated the size rule and at least seemingly the voting system was removed. The container ship is currently listed as the week 1 winner. Bruce (21 years ago, 24-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: 2 Micro MOCs : Heavy Haulers & Shell gas station

Hey Sean, Nice MOCs. I'm not as big a fan of the cement truck (it looks a bit like a mobile missile launcer to me) (perhaps the cement part should be angled the opposite direction?), but I really like the other two trucks in that setup. I actually (...) (21 years ago, 24-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

Re: B.I. Joe: Killer Whale Hovercraft

(...) It looks great! Having the toy, I have been wanting to build one myself. I have a couple of suggestions if you trying to make it a little more accurate. You could make the missle launchers smaller, just by using 2x4 bricks and sticking the (...) (21 years ago, 24-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Two vehicles and a Gas Station/QuickeeMart

Re: 2 Micro MOCs : Heavy Haulers & Shell gas station

(...) Alternately, you can use the 3 and 9 keys on the numpad, which is really useful considering all the viewpoint controls are there as well. All this is detailed in the manual (Program FilesLEGO Digital Designerdocumentatio...eng.html). I hope (...) (21 years ago, 24-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

Re: work in progress | more pictures and information

Hi Jan-Tore, It seems you are back again. The FH is impressive. It is always a pitty the pneumatics are far too weak. But I think it is a very heavy model. I saw your TGA as well. As far as I know you are the first one with a 1:13 TGA. Greetings (...) (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Some 2005 sets showing up already in regular stores.

(...) The headllights aren't stickers. The headlights are printed slopes, and everything else is stickers. It's very weird. You've probably opened yours by now, but thought I'd put it out there. -Dan Rubin (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2005, FTX)

  Re: AFOLs and Mindstorms

This sounds like a lotta fun, if not somewhat short notice. One critical question, regarding the competition itself: What is the programming environment? -Ted (...) (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

(...) Not really. I'll just continue to ignore LUGNET as I've been doing for a while now. Rich Admin -- BZPower.com (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.color)

  AFOLs and Mindstorms

My colleague, Jan Beyer has asked me to pass along word of something cool he's working on. As he works to help community build and spread even further in Europe, he was thinking it might be fun to pull together an AFOL Mindstorms competition. Sorta (...)   Re: The Adventurers Travel in Style

(...) Really? I dunno, I guess I always figured they bought/rented/borrowed whatever they needed when they got to a place. I never figured them for taking everything with them, especially based on the hodge-podge of vehicles throughout all the (...) (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers)

  LD4DModeler 1.1

Hello all. I've been busy with other stuff for over a year but last weekend I picked up my LD4DModeler project. I've renewed and relocated it's website and released version 1.1. The 1.1 version fixes some irritating bugs I've found while doing a (...) (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.cad)

Re: Hook Coupling 737c01.dat and 444.dat train wheel.

(...) Wouldn't it be best to create 'inventorying policy'? Inventorying is much faster than actually modelling the parts, so the {ldraw} part library is {in my eyes} just a subset of peeron library. And while you think about some new policies, some (...) (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Black Friday Deals

I was looking at bargainshare.com for Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) sales listings, and saw some LEGO deals, so I thought I'd cross post these here. These might just be rumors, for all I know, so YMMV. Toys 'R Us Friday and Saturday Lego (...) (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

(...) Just to clarify, LEGO Direct always had a limited time directive. The purpose was to run outside the "corporate structure" long enough to get up and running, then start to integrate the unit (and thus the ideas) into the organization overall. (...) (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: Identifying AFOLs on LUGNET

(...) Heh, if LGC caught on, it'd probably slowly become second nature-- at least to the things you were interested in seeing. But I have to agree, it's very intimidating at first glance. Lots of symbols and wierdness floating around. Now, what (...) (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Brick Testament: Story of Christmas in Publishers Weekly and Money magazine

(...) It is a little odd, but I should point out that for Money's article, they were just taking the recommendation of one guy who runs a independent bookstore in College Park, MD. And the Publishers Weekly review only says that *some* of the book (...) (21 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.books, FTX)
