(...) I agree, the FTX tables looked great. (...) I frequently do the same, it was quite helpful. It's too bad there isn't a way to show FTX on the web, but newsreaders get something more legible. (...) Wouldn't it suck if Lucas DID show the AT-ATs being dispatched to Hoth, and it turned out they just fell from space like meteorites, deploying a bunch of balloons at a certain altitude so it could bounce and roll safely across the terrain (...) (21 years ago, 4-Nov-04, to lugnet.starwars)

 | | LUGNET Blimp Has Arrived!
Ever since the 5956 Air Zeppelin came out, I thought it would be fun to build a civilian blimp. I tried to think about some color scheme that would lend itself to LEGO colors, and a colorful graphic to put on the blimp itself. Then it occurred to (...) | | New Lego window variations.

While working on the Lego CD, I talked with my friend Kurt Richter of Germany, who knows a lot about early Lego. It seems that in 1957 when Lego came out with the classic windows - 1x6x3 (Panorama), 1x6x2 (3 pane), 1x6x2 (shutter), 1x4x2, 1x3x2, (...) (21 years ago, 4-Nov-04, to lugnet.general)

(...) LEGO is REALLY sticking it to Canadians on this set and thsi year. It's $59.99 CAD. That's 1.5 Exchange! Last time I checked it was 1.2052. Why is LEGO milking Canadians this year when the Canadian Dollar has gone up??? (21 years ago, 4-Nov-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.ca)

(...) As much geek-appeal as that would have, I'm glad Lucas didn't fall into that trap. Part of what made the OT so good was the fact that instead of spending 10 minutes on a few details, he'd spend a few seconds on a thousand details. It has a way (...)
