Re: MIT handy board or laptop..

(...) That would be great if you could show me a 8086 or 286 that ran Linux. You can get Xenix (or could get Xenix) for 286 machines, but you probably can't write the low-level device drivers to run the I/O ports that you'll be custom building for (...)   Re: Jar Jar will probably be back

(...) ObSWnitpick: Lightsabres aren't hot, they excite the particles in the objects they are passing through, and cause the 'burn' effect differently. If lightsabres were hot enough to create the kind of heat needed to burn/cauterize the kind of (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Blocking IR

Hi Kekoa, Could you post your working IR .srec code or email me if possible? I have tried the examples with the LegOS read sensor routines and I still get the same results. i.e. it works at about 2mm from the unit but fails after more than 5mm. I (...)   Re: TLG 1998 Annual Report

(...) Yes, probably. I guess it would not be as bad if they provided a better, (I.E. More advanced) Town sets, or General sets. They don't, and all of the other themes are becoming that as well. It is horrible, I cannot comprehend TLG planning or (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Jar Jar will probably be back

(...) How about "The Menace may be destroyed, but the new Darth Maul lurks in the nearby future." I know it sounds weird, but Maul didn't bleed when Obi-Wan chopped him in half. I'm thinking that he is a droid. Maybe? Greg citrusx__@yahoo.com (URL) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Eric, This post has no .dat content, and so belongs in lugnet.cad, or perhaps lugnet.cad.dev. All the *.dat newsgroups are for .dat files and followup questions/comments only. -John Van Eric Brok <brok@fcjsvc.hvu.nl> wrote in message (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

RE: Jar Jar will probably be back

(...) SNIP (...) I don't think so, you forgot the words "New" and "future". And Phantom is not on your list. This gives, something like: <Darth> <Maul> may <be> destroyed, but the New Future Menace lurks nearby. Seems more likely, though new and (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Where are the World Cup Sets this time around?

Dear TLG- What a missed opportunity. You have the Women's World Cup 1999 being played in the US, yet you chosen not to market the Football/Soccer sets this year as you had in the past with the Men's Cup. Someone should be fired for such a blunder. (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  TECHNIC 8247 Road Rebel Parts

Re: Traveling to Stockholm - Shopping? Trading?

There is a toy store called "Stor & Liten" ("Big and small") in "Gallerian" in stockholm. They sell lego. No fotboll sets or so have been sold in Sweden (what I know about).   Is this piece in LDraw

The piece: Small spring-loaded shock absorber, as used in some Town cars. I've looked through my LDraw part list, but this item doesn't seem to be modelled yet. Is this true? I really would like to have it, to draw some train coupling mechanisms. A (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)
