  Re: frame RCX reply how

(...) Anyone know more specifically where to read how Lejos frames standard RCX IR replies? Does Lejos even include any .java code that runs on the PC? I mean to be asking how a PC should frame the standard replies from Lego RCX fimware, not how a (...) (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Re: RCX & RIS, a fading glory? - Advanced alternatives: JCX, Embedlets

Bruce (...) Did you have to get Lego's permission to do that? Do they mind if you do it? Do they know? Peter (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Columbia

They have been reporting of a search and rescue team in Texas to look for survivors because all the astronaunts had parachutes to escape. But traveling at 12,500 mph and at 200,000 feet, it's a 1 in a million chance for any survivors. Truely (...) (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Robot Arm Help - Gearing Techniques - FAQ

Eric What is the relative efficiency of the different gear trains? Lego gears seem to be rather inefficient. Are worms better or worse than repeated 8t to 40t? Peter (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Columbia

This is BAD. Already two shuttles have now been destroyed 'in action.' I wonder what is going to happen next. I heard something about the Russion Soyuz spacecraft to be used to ferry stuff to the International Space Station. I wonder about the (...) (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

Re: RCX & RIS, a fading glory?

Kyle (...) Very true. (...) CAN bus? I2C bus? But that would require a third wire for power. They could be connected with miniature stereo jacks. (...) Sure. (...) Hmmm. I don't see how. The data rates for pictures are too high and would swamp the (...) (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Rechargeable Battery question.

Ken (...) Any idea what sort of power could be transferred? Let's pull some imaginary figures out of the air... A toothbrush might use 500 watt seconds to clean your and your spouse's teeth and is left to charge for 12 hours. That's a charging rate (...) (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: frame RCX reply how

(...) Ah, thanks. Can we therefore conclude 45.8 ms/byte = 11/2400 s/byte for each byte of a burst? (...) Tell me more? Do we mean to say RCX in the middle of a football field echoes less well? Should I discard the echo, rather than checking it for (...) (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Need for rect primitive with two or one edge?

(...) What was it missing? We did have a problem running out of disk space recently, that could have caused the trouble. (...) I've rebuilt the zip file. I should probably set that up to run as a daily job. Steve (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Method for splitting quads with not coplanar vertices?

(...) There's not really a way to automatically fix the problem, if it was caused by an error in a vertex's position. That almost has to be fixed manually. Steve (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad)
