Re: recursion (was RE: Would-be hacker queries.)

(...) And, BTW, isn't this intuitively obvious, since CPUs are, in fact, iterative? Cheers, Ben. -- (URL) grandfather once told me that there are two kinds of people: those who work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first (...)   Re: recursion (was RE: Would-be hacker queries.)

(...) I seem to remember the point of the Ackermann function is that the amount of computation required to evaluate it explodes very rapidly with small changes in parameter values, and it is recursive and rather simple. I also seem to remember "so (...) (27 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: All UK Groups subscribed?

(...) Yeah - but I think it is a bit different in the US. I've only been to the USA once - and I don't know if other people have found the same thing - so tell me if anyone else disagrees... but one of the overwhelming things I found in the USA was (...)   Re: All UK Groups subscribed?

(...) Very easily I'd say - that's happened to me at first. When I was new to lugnet one of the first things I did was look for local groups near to me - I found the section for my part of the UK - I think it was the London list and found it was (...)   Re: Request regarding "Spoilers"

(...) Maybe not. If the existence of Luke and his sister were kept secret from Vader, then he could well assume that Luke was the son of Uncle Owen. -- Terry K -- (...) (27 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Sith Infiltrator

I've also noticed that before, when a guy posted a scan from newly printed EP1 cutouts book, featuring Infiltrator's inside look (1). Its size looks very close to Falcon, and this just gives some clues about "long awaited" Falcon set of future. I (...) (27 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: You know, all this computer science talk doesn't really belong here.

(...) Of course it's okay. Actually, it was because of a concern I had for newbies that I suggested the computer science talk be moved to a more relevant group, or at least off of this one. Most of the computer threads here have digressed from Lego (...) (27 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Torso number was Forestman Torso was Voting Page

(...) Chris, you seem to by the "torso guy" around here, so if you have a good plan for those pieces, then go for it. And on another note, it has come to my attention that 9326 is NOT the torso number. I really hate to say this, but we need to move (...) (27 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: 99-03 Voting: Quick Comments

(...) That is the same question I had about the construction. :-) And I liked Joshua's logic about the number. It groups them numerically very nicely, and saves using 3-digit #'s, so why not? (...) I would think so - without actually seeing the (...) (27 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
