Re: Why do it? Was: multi-device output controller

I think that the solution should also be flexible enough to allow the power to be plugged into either an RCX output port or a battery pack. That way if you didn't want to lug around another battery pack, or if you didn't want to use up another (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Hello??

Yeah it probably is! Welcome to our little part of the world :) Where exactly is Prescott?? I'm pretty sure I've been in it.. I was going to ask you that when I sent Timmy off to you, only I was in a hurry. I believe I'm on a couple other Wisconsin (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.wi.mil)

Re: Why do it? Was: multi-device output controller

Ralph, Thanks for reigning in the rabbit chase! As the originator of this thread I'd like to respond to the 'why'... I keep running out of ports on my creations. I see 5 or 6 as a practical limit. My criteria for a solution: 1. Entirely compliant (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

  RE: External Power Port Problem..?

(...) Ummm, It's not clear from your post, and I'm sure you have tried this, but have you tried a different adaptor? I tried to drive the RCX from a supposedly 9V wallwart, and it didn't work. The I used my lab power supply and started cranking it (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Teal Color (was: Simulating tubes)

(...) Have you looked at LDraw's version of yellow? And what about trans-neon green? Or most of the other colors. LDraw's palette should only be considered a rough approximation of the true colors. It makes more sense to assign a solid color (code 0 (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

Why do it? Was: multi-device output controller

(...) I have checked this out, and if you use the standard RCX firmware (or other firmware that uses the RCX ROM, then you get the waveforms you are talking about at 125Hz 1/(1ms x 8). You also get polarity information - oh no, I've said too much. (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

A great link for people doing HC11 work: www.msoe.edu/eecs/ce.../resources Here they have Wookie, a HC11 simulator for Win32, the WinBug11 downloader, a DOS HC11 simulator, AS6811 and ASLINK (relocatable assembler), and something I've sought for a (...)   Path to put files

With my latest model I had to create nothing more nothing less than 13 'mock-up' parts reaching a total of 17 DATs lying around with my models in the Models directory. Isn't there a better place where I can put those? They are not models, they are (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)

  External Power Port Problem..?

Esteemed Colleagues, I have two RCXs, both of which have stopped responding to power applied to the external power port. With batteries, they function correctly; with a 9.6v Lithium Ion battery pack attached to the external port, nothing. This has (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics)

How about an RCX to RS232 connection to use off the shelf components? Check out this link. (URL) sells a simple serial servo contol that services up to 8 motors via an rs232 port ($49.95).   Re: SW price comparisons.....

(...) The worst place has to be the shop in the Howard centre in Welwyn Garden City. Tie-tighter/Y Wing £44. X-Wing £29 I'd have to say even at the best prices that have been quoted the SW sets strike me as pretty rip-off level prices. For example, (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)
