Re: UK prices of Star Wars

(...) a (...) That's how I got to your site. In the statistics you were the bussiest site around. (...) I don't know about France, but Lego is usually very available in Dutch shops. The prices I posted are from 'Vroom & Dreesman' or 'V&D', a large (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: AC Adapter Specs?

(...) That explains why the internal CyberMaster motors when running at speed 1 sometimes make the unit tremble fast, almost like if the motors were being turned off and on at high speed. The effect is more noticeable when the batteries are weak and (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: The Handyboard (was Re: RCX 2.0 -- ideas.)

Ross - - - At present the wheeled 'bot is torn down for a rebuild. The only pics that I have are without any sensors ... taken to show how the rapid switch from RCX to HandyBoard is done. If that is what you are interested in, let me know and I'll (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Lego Has updated its online Catalog!!

(...) Well, in the area of browsers I guess I would tend to choose Communicator over IE. But, in general, Mac users are more accustomed to getting very little of anything and paying more for it when they get it, so wouldn't it make a lot of sense (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: AC Adapter Specs?

I hooked up my amp meter to the lego motors that come with the Mindstorm and they were drawing <= 100 ma. If my readings were correct I would think any 9-12V transformer that is greater than 300ma would work with the Mindstorm. It is not the current (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

slightly off topic: two questions (one of them for EE types)

I hate batteries. I have a lego bubble-blower in my office that I use as a demo when people tour our center, and it is really annoying to have the battery-pack batteries die at inopportune moments. It seems silly to have the $250 serial interface (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Expansion Board Files

take the files out of the expansion-libs directory, and put them in the libs directory. over-write any previous files by the same name. make sure IC is configured to load lib_hb.lis on boot. that should be it... not sure where you're getting hung (...)   Re: More Star Wars coolness

(...) glad (...) I agree 100%. Disregarding the fact that they're cool for the Star Wars aspect, the design seems very sound. I know if my company were in the hole and I had a potential money maker like this I WOULD WASTE NO TIME GETTING THEM ON (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Microfig Assault Shuttle

(...) Oooh, I like the wing hinge design. I just might use it... :-, Is this a hint for me to publish my microfig-scale designs? Cheers, - Sproat (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: TLG press release - not a crisis?

(...) Right. It was just a thought, albeit not necessarily a good one. MLM wouldn't work with lego because as you indicate, it's a toy: it couldn't generate enough cash to float because the product line is too narrow. Amway is really for people who (...) Steve Bliss wrote in message <36abdc17.2168556@lu...et.com>... (...) Sure, but TLG isn't a pyramid scheme, so there's a big difference. Amway has to hit a slump, because there's only so many people willing to sign on as salespeople. TLG is a toy (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: TLG press release - not a crisis?

(...) I find this to be very cool, if it actually works. I say this only because probablity dictates that there is not a 100% success rate. But nonetheless if TLG is anything like the Amway Corp., that's great. On another tangent, wouldn't that be (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)
