Re: Greenburg Show Dec 2nd & 3rd in Wilmington MA

(...) [rubbing hands together gleefully] ooh, I like this idea - I have dozens of magnets, and hadn't even thought of this <g> I'm glad you mentioned that the fiber optic cables are clear, too ... I actually have the Space Shuttle Set and was (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: How Anyone could Make Jar-Jar an Orc, or something else

(...) Sheild, (...) very (...) Actually, I've been planning on using a Jar-Jar head to help me represent a Lizard-man type character. This comes from my plans to put my rpg group's TORG adventures online in Minifig form. Two of the characters are (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.starwars)

Re: What age does buying lego become embarrassing?

My biggest problem as a teen is buying my friend's sets. They think they're getting a good deal, when I would pay twice as much on ebay. I usually just tell them the truth, and though I see these people every day, I get suprisingly little flak from (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: LEGO Soccer Player

(...) It's in the LEGO soccer bus that is touring the MLS cities (which means I don't get to see it being in Washington). It will be in your area two weeks from tomorrow for the MLS All-Star game. P.S. Crew suck, go Rapids! 8-) (25 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh.col)

(...) wouldn't (...) I'd like to hear more about the idea of true costs. What would be included in the true costs of automobile ownership? The cost of maintaining roads? The cost of pollution? -- Jeff <jthompson@esker.com> "Float on a river, forever (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.general)

Re: A Parental Perspective on Juniorisation and Being the Strongest Brand

(...) The comparison here is a little skewed, in that you're lining up Lego's largest basic tub against a specific MegaBloks building set. Conversely, one could compare MegaBloks' 1500 brick tub for $20 with Lego's UCS sets for $150; obviously the (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) Arrr, yeah, that's what I meant. :D (...) Hmm. Something on the box indicated to me that the fiber was scored or "broken" somehow such that light flashed out of the fiber at even intervals down the fiber (note here that I do know how fiber (...)   Comics + Lego (was Harry Potter Lego Line)

Well, I must admit that I was baffled when I heard that TLG picked up the Harry Potter lisence. I looked it up on here a was enlighted to the story, I might go pick up the first book now, it sounds interesting! Wizards, castles, ect... However, my (...)   Re: What age does buying lego become embarrassing?

(...) Thinking about this ... I bet it's the fact that you go there with your mother that sets the context for them to make the comments. Having mom there casts you in the role of "kid" ... and some people always feel a little dismissive of "kids." (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)
