  Re: Soccer buses inconsitencies

(...) Um, no. You want either 3411 or 3406, and 3411 is what I'd call, according to LEGO's designation of the Red and Black buses, white. That is, the players have white shirts, the windows are white as is the top luggage rack. I was calling into (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: What are the rarest Town sets?

Good Evening (...) guess it never ddi make the stores then. Kind of interesting really. 1484 is rather rare. I have two of them at the moment and worked on getting a third with a great box but I wasn't lucky enough. How rare would you think 1518, (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Availibility of Harry Potter LEGO

(...) Well, despite long lines no bookstore I know of sold out of Harry Potter IV on the first night. I saw the storeroom of one store immediately after they closed, and I can tell you they had *plenty* left (although they did sell a huge number). (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: What age does buying lego become embarrassing?

Make a stupid computer game, sell it for extremely high prices & become the next Bill Gates so everyone loves you. That's my plan to keep people from bothering me about it, but for now I use VERY long words no one understands so everyone at school (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: NELUG Meeting Notes, Wednesday July 12, 2000

Hi Chris and everyone, I'd like to say thanks for taking this seriously and dedicating your time to think about it. I can't say I'm not disappointed - that would be a lie - but I understand your reasoning. I might try to start an all-age group; I (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: What age does buying lego become embarrassing?

Erin, Well, I am 25 too, and I had the same experiences you had, in terms of being targets of sarcasm and the like. my fondest memory was when I was 17, and I saved up enough money to buy the 6399 - the coveted Airport Monorail. $150.00, even, at (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

  Strange crash (and possible fix)

I had a strange experience today. My program likes to crash a lot. I accept this as a fact of life now; part of it is the difficulty in debugging it, and part seems to be the beta-ness of legOS. However, today, I tracked down one particularly evil (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Part Command (1)

Ok unless my new parsing-routine is ready I will replace the spaces by underlines as a work-arround since I found out the real problem is the space in the file-name. MLCad stops after reading the first word ... has the halfe file-name and cries that (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Greetings! (Neophite alert!)

(...) Hmm..9/9 might be more doable though I'm more interested in the LEGO truck than the game. Soccer just never got under my skin like other sports. :) Though with the soccer sets..... no better not branch out anymore...yet. ;) (...) Cleveland, (...)   Re: What age does buying lego become embarrassing?

What Scott said! One day, you will bring an armful of Lego to the cashier and plunk it down. They will say with a smile "Is all this for you?" and if you dare to reply "Yes it is" and you receive in return a wink of jealousy... these things will (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: What age does buying lego become embarrassing?

<snip> Huh, well. I haven't had *much* of a problem with this, maybe because I'm short and people never know how old I am (estimates range from 12-13 to college years!!). But I do get the occasional weird look. I try to ignore those - jerks. OTOH, I (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Planes & Requirements for a generic download-tool

Yes I know, with Win32 it's easy no matter if it's http or ftp, but is it also under Unix? I would like to keep the source as portable as possible. In general it doesn't depend on the protocol, but getting directory listings from ftp servers is (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Paradisa Castle

Neat-o!! I'm in the process of making a series of houses for my Big Five; and for Rose, I'm thinking of a white house with pink trimming, or something... something that would look nice and inviting, but not too corny or ugh-y. ;-) -Shiri P.S. (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.castle)
